Tourexpi
The
initiative is designed to support tourism growth and attract more visitors to
Türkiye by showcasing its vibrant cities, coastal escapes, and striking natural
landscapes. From sailing the turquoise waters of the Aegean to uncovering
ancient ruins in Ephesus or immersing in the creative energy of Istanbul,
Türkiye offers a summer of variety and unforgettable experiences.
Mamoun
Hmidan, Chief Business Officer at Wego, said:
“Türkiye
continues to be a top destination for travelers across the MENA region,
offering a unique mix of history, culture, nature, and gastronomy. We are proud
to collaborate with the Türkiye Tourism Promotion and Development Agency to
bring even more visibility to the country's summer offerings. With Wego's
technology and reach, we're making it easier for travelers to discover, plan,
and book their perfect Turkish escape.”
As
part of the campaign, Wego and TGA will highlight Türkiye’s blend of
centuries-old heritage and modern lifestyle. Travelers can explore Istanbul’s
art and café culture, discover the open-air wonders of Göreme, or experience
the creative pulse of Izmir and Ankara. Wego’s platform provides real-time
comparisons, curated inspiration, and mobile-first convenience, enabling
travelers to plan trips easily – from last-minute getaways to extended
vacations.
Sinan
Seha Türkseven, Acting General Manager of TGA, commented:
“According
to UN Tourism’s data, Türkiye ranked as the world’s 4th largest inbound tourism
market by the end of 2024. The Middle East remains one of our strongest source
markets, thanks to shared cultural and historical ties, similar gastronomy
traditions, and Türkiye’s diverse destinations. We are pleased to partner with
Wego, a dominant player in its field, to further highlight Türkiye’s cultural
richness and tourism appeal. With 22 UNESCO World Heritage Sites and being
second in the world for UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage, Türkiye is ideal
for cultural exploration. This campaign underscores our commitment to
sustainable tourism, cultural preservation, and authentic experiences, while
emphasizing the convenience of short flight times and favorable visa policies
for MENA travelers.”
The
campaign places a strong emphasis on Türkiye’s culinary heritage, inviting
travelers to enjoy iconic dishes such as kebab, mantı, and baklava, sample
street food in bustling markets, or dine with panoramic Bosphorus views.
Coastal destinations like Bodrum and Çeşme are highlighted for their seafood
and seaside charm.
In
addition, the campaign showcases Türkiye’s diverse summer offerings, from
vibrant festivals in Istanbul and Bodrum to thermal spa retreats in Pamukkale,
as well as a wide range of family-friendly resorts. Sustainability is another
focal point, with initiatives promoting eco-conscious travel in the Black Sea
region, restoration projects in historic towns like Safranbolu, and expanded
gastronomy routes supporting local producers.
Whether
discovering Cappadocia’s unique landscapes, exploring the ruins of Troy,
strolling through Istanbul’s dynamic streets, or relaxing along the beaches of
Fethiye, Türkiye continues to welcome MENA travelers with authenticity, warmth,
and a wealth of unforgettable experiences.
