Princess Cruises announced its 2028 World Cruise, a
115-day journey around the globe aboard the Coral Princess. The voyage will
visit 49 destinations in 24 countries across five continents and include 39
UNESCO World Heritage Sites. The itinerary also features extended port stays
and a maiden call to Mossel Bay in South Africa.
The cruise will depart on January 3, 2028, sailing
roundtrip from Fort Lauderdale or Los Angeles. The itinerary allows guests to
explore the world while unpacking only once. In addition to the full voyage,
travellers will be able to choose from shorter segments ranging from 20 to 100
days.
Journey across five continents
The Coral Princess, accommodating around 2,000 guests,
will cover approximately 36,000 nautical miles during the voyage. The ship will
cross both the Equator and the International Date Line and transit the Panama
Canal early in the journey.
From there, the itinerary will continue through Hawaii
and the South Pacific, including stops in Samoa and Fiji, before heading to
Australia and New Zealand. Destinations in the region will include cities such
as Sydney, Melbourne and Auckland, along with visits to areas known for their
wildlife and natural landscapes.
The voyage will then cross the Indian Ocean to island
destinations including Mauritius and Réunion before reaching South Africa.
Guests will spend a night in Cape Town and visit Mossel Bay for the first time.
The coastal town is known for its beaches and historical significance,
including nearby caves that form part of a UNESCO World Heritage Site with
evidence of early modern human activity dating back more than 160,000 years.
After sailing north along Africa’s western coast, the
itinerary will enter the Mediterranean with visits to destinations including
Barcelona, Sicily and Dubrovnik, as well as Casablanca, before crossing the
Atlantic back to North America.

Extended time in port
The cruise will feature an expanded “More Ashore”
programme designed to give travellers more time in several key destinations.
Overnight stays are planned in Cape Town and Auckland.
In addition, ten destinations will include late-night
departures, including Barcelona, Casablanca, Dubrovnik, Honolulu, Melbourne and
Sydney. These extended stays will allow guests to experience destinations after
dark, including local dining, cultural attractions and evening events.
For the first time, Princess Cruises will also offer
guests the opportunity to take part in safari experiences at selected wildlife
reserves in Africa, including Aquila Game Reserve and Pumba Private Game
Reserve, known for its population of rare white lions.
Experiences on board and ashore
The itinerary will include a wide range of shore
excursions designed to highlight culture, nature and local traditions. Guests
will be able to explore Mediterranean villages, relax on Waikiki Beach in
Hawaii or encounter wildlife in Australia and New Zealand. Natural landmarks
such as Fiordland National Park in New Zealand and Table Mountain in Cape Town
will also be part of the travel programme.
On board the Coral Princess, guests will be offered a
variety of cultural and educational activities. These will include themed deck
events, folkloric performances, lectures, cooking demonstrations and language
classes. Broadway-style productions and other entertainment programmes will
complement the enrichment activities.
Culinary experiences will also reflect the
destinations visited, with menus inspired by regional ingredients and local
traditions. Princess Cruises has previously been recognised by Food & Wine
magazine as one of the best cruise lines for food enthusiasts.
Members of the Captain’s Circle loyalty programme will
receive an additional benefit of up to 3,000 US dollars in onboard credit per
stateroom as part of the world cruise offering.
