Nicaragua strengthens tourism promotion in Canada

The Nicaraguan Tourism Institute presented the destination to travel industry professionals in Toronto and Montreal as part of the Canada Roadshow 2026

Nicaragua is stepping up its tourism marketing activities in the Canadian market. The Nicaraguan Tourism Institute (Intur) participated in the Canada Roadshow 2026 on 9 and 10 September, presenting the country’s tourism products and attractions to travel industry professionals.

The roadshow was organised by the Central America Tourism Agency (CATA) and formed part of efforts to strengthen the positioning of Central American destinations in Canada.

Tourism professionals meet in Toronto and Montreal

The first event took place in Toronto on 9 September and attracted 40 representatives from the tourism industry. A second meeting in Montreal on 10 September brought together another 44 professionals.

Intur was represented by Ana Carolina García, head of the Promotion and Marketing Department. She introduced participants to Nicaragua’s principal tourism attractions, experiences and products and distributed destination information for use by travel professionals.

Nicaragua targets the Canadian market

The presentations were accompanied by promotional activities featuring Nicaraguan products and handicrafts, including coffee and locally made souvenirs.

Through its participation in the roadshow, Intur aims to strengthen relationships with tour operators and other professionals involved in selling and promoting international destinations.

The initiative is part of Nicaragua’s efforts to increase its visibility in Canada and position the country’s combination of nature, culture, lakes and volcanic landscapes more strongly in the international tourism market.
