Planned hospitality joint venture in Oman put on hold after project timeline cannot be met
OMRAN Group and TUI suspend implementation of partnership agreement

TUI and OMRAN Group have announced the suspension of the implementation of their partnership agreement to establish a local hospitality joint venture. The companies had signed a binding agreement on 18 September 2025 and had since been working on the execution of the project.

OMRAN Group has now informed TUI that the agreed project timeline, which targeted completion by 31 March 2026, can no longer be achieved. As a result, both parties have decided to suspend the implementation of the partnership.

Hotel development and share acquisition affected

The suspension applies to all elements of the planned cooperation. This includes the intended joint ownership and development of five new hotels in the Dhofar Governorate in southern Oman.

In addition, OMRAN’s planned acquisition of a 1.4 percent shareholding in TUI will also not proceed as originally scheduled.

Dialogue between partners to continue

Despite the suspension of the project implementation, both companies emphasised that they will maintain close communication regarding potential future cooperation.

TUI and OMRAN Group stated that they will continue their dialogue as partners while evaluating possible next steps.
