Luxury cruise line Seabourn has introduced “The Denali
Experience,” a new pre-cruise land programme designed to extend selected Alaska
voyages in 2027 and 2028. The optional eight-day Seabourn Journey invites
guests to explore the interior of Alaska, including Denali National Park and
Preserve, before embarking on their cruise.
The eight-day, seven-night programme combines guided
exploration, wildlife encounters and scenic travel through Alaska’s vast
landscapes. Accompanied by local experts and tour leaders, guests will discover
the region’s natural beauty and cultural heritage at a relaxed pace while
enjoying the personalised service that characterises Seabourn’s voyages.
Extended exploration of Alaska’s interior
According to Mark Tamis, the new programme expands the
company’s Alaska itineraries by adding a deeper inland experience. “We are
thrilled to offer The Denali Experience as an extension of our Alaska voyages,”
he said. “This Seabourn Journey allows guests to explore Alaska's interior in a
deeper and more meaningful way, combining immersive, destination-focused
experiences with the intuitive and personalized service they expect from
Seabourn. It is a natural complement to the voyage and offers another way to
experience the extraordinary landscapes of The Great Land.”
The Denali Experience will depart from Anchorage ahead
of selected Seabourn Alaska sailings in 2027 and 2028. The programme begins
with a scenic rail journey into Alaska’s interior before continuing with a
range of curated activities designed to highlight the state’s landscapes and
wildlife.
Wildlife encounters and scenic experiences
One of the highlights is a “flightseeing” excursion
offering aerial views over glaciers and wilderness across more than six million
acres of Denali National Park and Preserve. Guests will also visit the Alaska
Wildlife Conservation Center in the scenic Portage Valley, where native species
such as lynx, moose, brown bears and wood bison can be observed against the
dramatic backdrop of the Chugach Mountains and the Turnagain Arm.
Throughout the journey, guests will be accompanied by
expert tour leaders and local specialists who provide insights into Alaska’s
wildlife, landscapes and culture.
Land programme complements Inside Passage cruises
The programme concludes with a farewell dinner at
Tracy's King Crab Shack overlooking the waterfront of Juneau.
The Denali Experience includes accommodation in
four-star hotels and resorts, daily meals, transportation including airport
transfers and guided excursions. Designed to complement Seabourn’s seven-day Inside
Passage voyages, the programme offers guests the opportunity to experience
Alaska beyond the coastline through immersive inland exploration.
