The airlines of the Lufthansa Group are expanding
their long-haul offer at short notice in response to a sharp rise in demand.
Additional flights are being scheduled particularly on routes to Asia and
Africa, where demand for travel has increased significantly in recent weeks.
According to the group, the airlines are closely
monitoring booking trends and market developments and are responding with
targeted capacity increases. Further special flights are currently under
review.
Additional long-haul services from Munich, Frankfurt
and Vienna
Lufthansa plans to operate several extra flights over
the coming weeks. These include four additional services between Munich and Singapore,
as well as two special flights connecting Frankfurt with Cape Town. Two further
additional flights from Frankfurt to Riyadh are also planned.
At the same time, Austrian Airlines has already
scheduled ten special flights between Vienna and Bangkok.
Further capacity adjustments under review
The additional flights that have already been
announced are available through all standard booking channels. Lufthansa Group
stated that it continues to observe market developments closely and will
communicate any further capacity increases as required.
