RIU Hotels & Resorts and Tikida Group have completed the refurbishment of the Riu
Palace Tikida Agadir, their 5-star beachfront hotel in Agadir, Morocco,
which opened in 2012. The hotel, which offers the renowned 24h All Inclusive by
RIU service, now has a capacity of 456 rooms and an improved layout, as well as
new food options, brighter common areas and better entertainment to give guests
an even more complete experience.
Following
the update, the rooms have a more contemporary and functional design that is in
line with the hotel's elegant and sophisticated style. The interior design
combines a selection of luxurious materials such as marble and hardwood with
more contemporary elements to strike an attractive balance between modernity
and tradition. What’s more, all rooms now have showers, except for the suites,
which also have a bathtub.
The
foyer now feels more spacious and natural light floods in through the large
skylight. The space is organised into two different areas: one with the new Cappuccino
patisserie café, which offers a selection of coffees and pastries, and the
other with a Lobby Bar, which has direct access to a fully refurbished terrace.
The hotel now also boasts a new 24-hour Sports Bar with large screens where
guests can watch their favourite sports events. These new additions take the
number of bars at the hotel to six. In terms of entertainment, the hotel has
transformed the lounge bar into a theatre, which now has a larger stage, table
service and a structure that opens out onto the outdoor terrace.
What’s
more, the establishment’s range of restaurants has undergone a makeover. The
main buffet, Le Santal, has been redesigned to give it a more welcoming
atmosphere, with small spaces that make it feel less like a large dining hall
and give guests more privacy. Its terrace has also been extended and now
includes a retractable pergola that automatically adjusts to the current light
and wind conditions so guests are comfortable at any time of the day.
The
hotel has a Pepe's Food restaurant near the three swimming pools. This
grill-themed concept is open during the day and allows guests to enjoy snacks
without leaving the leisure area. What’s more, the snack bar has been renovated
with a more extensive terrace and, at night, part of this space is transformed
into the Steak House, specialised in grilled meats. With these new additions,
the hotel now has a total of five restaurants to offer its guests a wider
variety of options.
RIU
and Tikida Group currently have six hotels in Morocco with a total of 2,271
rooms. Three of these establishments are located around Agadir: the recently
refurbished Riu Palace Tikida Agadir, the Riu Tikida Dunas and the Riu Tikida Beach. Moreover, two are located in Marrakesh,
the Riu Tikida Palmeraie and the Riu Tikida Garden, and one in Taghazout, the Riu Palace Tikida Taghazout.
