A
franchise agreement has been signed with Senegindia SA for the development of Holiday
Inn SD City Dakar, set to open in 2027 with 150 rooms. The hotel will be
managed by Valor Hospitality Partners, further strengthening their regional
footprint.
Located
within the ambitious Diamniadio urban development project, the hotel will lie
just a short drive from Blaise Diagne International Airport, the Abdou Diouf
International Conference Centre, La Maison des Nations Unies, Dakar Sports City,
and the Diamniadio Industrial Park—making it an ideal destination for both business
and leisure travellers.
Once
operational, the hotel will showcase Holiday Inn’s next-generation Open Lobby
concept, designed as a flexible space for guests to work, dine, or relax. As
part of a gated, mixed-use development, it will offer modern comfort and the
brand’s hallmark of accessible and dependable service. The opening will bring
the number of Holiday Inn hotels in Africa to 12.
Haitham
Mattar, Managing Director, IHG Hotels & Resorts IMEA, stated:
“Bringing
Holiday Inn to SD City Dakar is a significant milestone for IHG in West Africa.
Senegal is a dynamic and fast-growing tourism market, and this venture aligns
with our vision for expansion in the region. We’re excited to partner with
Senegindia SA to deliver the trusted Holiday Inn experience to this important
destination.”
A
spokesperson from Senegindia SA added:
“This
partnership with IHG underscores our commitment to creating a modern and
globally connected urban environment. Welcoming Holiday Inn to SD City Dakar
reinforces our ambition to establish Senegal as a major hub for tourism and
business in the region.”
Upon
opening, Holiday Inn SD City Dakar will join a global portfolio of over 1,200
Holiday Inn properties, carrying forward the brand’s legacy of modern design,
warm service, and memorable guest experiences.
