Delta expands premium lounge offering at LAX with new Delta One Lounge

Delta Air Lines has opened the first phase of its second Delta One Lounge at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), reinforcing its long-term investment in premium travel. Located on the mezzanine level of Terminal 2, the new 4,000-square-foot lounge accommodates 75 guests and marks the next step in Delta's expansion at its largest West Coast hub.

Four premium lounges planned by 2028

The new Delta One Lounge is part of a broader redevelopment that will continue through 2028. Next year, Delta will also open an 11,000-square-foot Delta Sky Club in Terminal 2 before completing the full renovation of the Delta One Lounge in 2028.

Once all projects are finished, Delta will operate four lounge spaces at LAX—two Delta One Lounges and two Delta Sky Clubs—covering a combined 60,000 square feet with seating for more than 1,000 guests. The expansion also brings Delta's global lounge portfolio to 60 locations, the largest among U.S. airlines.

“This investment remains congruent to our strategy of elevating the premium experience both at LAX and across our global network,” said Megan Humphreys, Vice President of Delta Sky Club and Lounge Experience. “With demand for premium travel continuing to rise and our global footprint expanding, we’re thoughtfully looking at every square foot we have — designing every detail with intention and to align with the Delta One experience our customers deserve.”

Culinary experience takes center stage

Unlike the larger Delta One Lounge in Terminal 3, the new Terminal 2 facility places a strong emphasis on fine dining. Guests enjoy full table service with an à la carte menu featuring dishes such as lamb bolognese, hamachi crudo and classic French onion soup.

Breakfast options range from acai bowls and huevos rancheros to fresh pastries supplied daily by Los Angeles bakery Sqirl. Many ingredients are sourced from California farms, while the premium bar features signature cocktails inspired by Delta's international network, alongside fresh juices, smoothies and specialty coffee.

The lounge also offers three showers, four cabana-style bathrooms, a premium bar, wireless charging stations, portable monitors and artwork created by seven Los Angeles-based artists.

Strengthening Delta's West Coast gateway

Delta currently operates up to 151 daily departures from LAX to 50 destinations. The airline is continuing to expand its international network with new nonstop services to Hong Kong and Chicago O'Hare, while flights to Vancouver will begin in November 2026 and Newark in April 2027.

The investments in lounges and premium facilities are part of Delta's broader strategy to strengthen Los Angeles as its primary West Coast gateway ahead of the LA28 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
