Condor has expanded its international network with the
launch of a new daily service between Frankfurt and Cairo. The inaugural flight
departed on June 26, 2026, adding Egypt's capital to the airline's growing
route portfolio and further enhancing connectivity through its Frankfurt hub.
The flights are operated in cooperation with Helvetic Airways and are available
through Condor, by phone and via travel agencies.
Strategic addition to the route network
The new connection links Frankfurt with one of North
Africa's largest metropolitan areas and an important economic and tourism
center. Operated on a daily basis, the service is designed to meet demand from
business travelers, holidaymakers and passengers connecting through Frankfurt.
"Cairo is a fascinating destination with
significant economic and cultural importance. By launching this new daily
service, we are making a targeted investment in a market with strong long-term
potential while creating additional connectivity via our Frankfurt hub. The
successful start of operations marks another important milestone in the
expansion of our international network and further strengthens our offering for
business, leisure and connecting passengers alike," said Peter Gerber, CEO
of Condor.
Gateway to Egypt's cultural treasures
With a metropolitan population of more than 20
million, Cairo ranks among the largest and most influential cities in North
Africa. The destination attracts millions of visitors each year with
world-renowned attractions including the newly opened Grand Egyptian Museum,
the Pyramids of Giza and as the starting point for Nile cruises through the
Valley of the Kings.
Warm welcome for inaugural flight
The first Condor flight to Cairo was welcomed at Cairo
International Airport with a celebratory ceremony attended by representatives
of the airport, local authorities and the airline. The event marked the launch
of the new route while highlighting its role in supporting tourism and
strengthening economic ties between Germany and Egypt.
