As temperatures in Germany climb above 40°C and set
new records, more travelers are choosing cooler destinations for their summer
holidays. The growing "Coolcation" trend is reshaping travel demand,
with Northern Europe emerging as an attractive alternative to traditional
sun-and-beach vacations. Responding to this shift, Eurowings is expanding its
offering of direct flights to destinations where mild temperatures, outdoor
activities and cultural experiences provide a welcome escape from the heat.
Germany's largest leisure airline now offers an
extensive network of non-stop services to some of Northern Europe's most
popular summer destinations, combining convenient access with a broad choice of
routes.
Iceland and Norway offer refreshing summer
temperatures
Reykjavik, Iceland's capital, welcomes visitors with
average summer temperatures between 11°C and 15°C, nearly 24 hours of daylight,
geothermal springs and dramatic natural landscapes. Eurowings serves the
destination seasonally from Düsseldorf.
Further north, Tromsø offers an Arctic summer
experience with temperatures ranging from 12°C to 16°C. Hiking, kayaking and
the Midnight Sun make the Norwegian city a popular destination above the Arctic
Circle. Eurowings operates year-round flights from Düsseldorf and seasonal
services from Hamburg, Berlin and Stuttgart.
Bergen, surrounded by mountains and fjords, combines
spectacular scenery with temperatures of around 15°C to 16°C. Seasonal non-stop
flights are available from Düsseldorf.
Scotland and Ireland combine mild weather with culture
Edinburgh offers pleasant summer temperatures between
15°C and 19°C, allowing visitors to explore its historic Old Town, Edinburgh
Castle and nearby Highlands in comfortable conditions. Eurowings serves the
Scottish capital from Düsseldorf, Cologne/Bonn and Stuttgart.
Glasgow provides another cool-weather alternative,
pairing Atlantic breezes with a vibrant cultural scene, Victorian architecture
and easy access to the Scottish Highlands. Seasonal direct flights operate from
Hanover.
In Ireland, Dublin combines temperatures of 15°C to
18°C with coastal walks, expansive parks and its renowned pub culture.
Eurowings offers direct flights from Düsseldorf and Stuttgart.
Stockholm rounds off the Coolcation collection
Built across 14 islands, Stockholm offers a relaxed
Scandinavian summer with temperatures between 20°C and 22°C. Visitors can enjoy
waterfront promenades, urban swimming spots and the traditional Swedish
"fika" while experiencing one of Northern Europe's most picturesque
capitals.
Eurowings connects Stockholm with Düsseldorf, Hamburg,
Hanover, Cologne/Bonn, Berlin and Stuttgart.
All "Coolcation" destinations are available
through Eurowings' direct route network. Travelers can book flights via the
airline's website or mobile app and choose between BASIC, SMART and BIZclass
fares to tailor their journey according to their individual travel preferences.
