Expansion
and Innovation Across Continents
In
the first half of the year, the Group expanded its presence across Asia,
Africa, and Europe, while celebrating key anniversaries in China and the
Maldives.
“Our
growth reflects a commitment to authentic, purpose-driven hospitality,” said
President and CEO Eddy See. “We believe in using travel as a force for good,
rooted in design, culture, and care.”
Debut
in Safari Hospitality
Banyan
Group will launch its first safari retreat in late 2025: Ubuyu, A Banyan Tree
Escape, in Tanzania’s Ruaha National Park. Crafted from local materials and
inspired by Maasai architecture, the six-villa eco-retreat will offer immersive
wildlife and cultural experiences, reinforcing the Group’s focus on
regenerative travel.
20
Years in China
Banyan
Group celebrates 20 years in China, where it now operates 33 hotels. This
year’s openings include properties in Zhuhai, Zhoushan, Weizhou Island,
Wenzhou, and Hengqin. A new clean water project in Lijiang will mark the
anniversary, alongside continued efforts in marine and environmental
conservation.
30
Years in the Maldives
Marking
three decades of presence in the Maldives, the Group was recently honoured by
the government for its leadership in sustainable tourism. Banyan Tree
Vabbinfaru, opened in 1995, remains a pioneer in eco-luxury.
Southeast
Asia Highlights
New

Philippines. Banyan Tree Beach Residences Oceanus launched in Phuket, offering
luxury beachfront homes with wellness and family amenities.

its Banyan Tree Gallery retail presence, now featured onboard China Airlines,
Emirates, EVA Air, and Starlux.
Recognition
and Awards
Banyan
Group received over 100 accolades in the first half of 2025. Banyan Tree ranked
#2 Best Hotel Brand in the Travel + Leisure Luxury Awards Asia Pacific, and
Dhawa Ihuru was recognised for one of the best house reefs in the Maldives. The
Group was also named Thailand's Most Awarded Developer for the second year in a
row.
As
the Group prepares to open its 100th hotel, it continues to shape the future of
