From
25 to 28 March 2025, the German National Tourist Board (GNTB) will host its
Germany Travel Mart™ (GTM) in an enhanced format for the first time as GTM
360°. Premium partners for the GTM 2025 include Dorint Hotels Betriebs GmbH and
Deutsche Lufthansa AG, with mobility service provider Sixt SE joining as a
cooperation partner.
Around
150 buyers from the international travel industry and 40 journalists from 32
countries have registered in total. Capacity for German suppliers at the
workshop has already been fully booked since the end of 2024, with 131 tourism
businesses and organisations participating. Two weeks before the workshop
begins, buyers and suppliers have already scheduled 2,200 meetings via the
online booking system.
Petra
Hedorfer, CEO of the GNTB, commented: "In response to both current and
future challenges – faced by both the international travel industry as well as
our partners in German tourism – we have further developed the GTM in a
flexible and differentiated manner. Beyond working with a single destination
partner, we can now integrate various models for showcasing our partners'
products into the programme design.
The
GTM remains a key business hub for the SME travel industry, with the goal of
successfully facilitating international business deals. With the newly created
GTM 360° digital marketplace, we are enabling 24/7, year-round online and
offline networking between the German tourism sector and the global travel
industry. The importance of this format for inbound tourism to Germany is also
reflected in ongoing contract negotiations for future GTM events. In February,
the GNTB signed a contract with Oberhausen Tourism and Economic Development
GmbH (OWT) for the event 2026. The Ruhr region’s dynamic transformation into an
attractive tourism destination makes it the ideal location to showcase the
strength and innovation of Germany’s tourism sector to international
buyers."
Rainer
Suhr, Head of Tourism and Marketing at Oberhausen Tourism and Economic
Development GmbH, added: "We are already looking forward to partnering
with the GNTB and hosting the Germany Travel Mart 2026 next year. Oberhausen
and the Ruhr region have a unique blend of urban culture, natural experiences,
and industrial heritage, which attracts visitors from all over the world. The
International Garden Exhibition Ruhr 2027 provides another reason to explore
the surprising diversity of the region. With this profile, we aim to inspire
international travel industry representatives and generate additional momentum
for inbound tourism to our region."
