showcase featured initiatives from across the Group — including Emirates and
dnata — focused on reducing single-use plastic and promoting responsible
consumption through innovative sourcing, reusing, repurposing, and reduction
strategies.
This
year’s exhibition highlighted impactful projects implemented in collaboration
with like-minded partners across various departments, from engineering and
catering to cargo, airport operations, and service delivery.

Highlights and Industry Collaboration
Throughout
the day, Emirates Group employees engaged in panel discussions featuring
representatives from Emirates Engineering, Flight Operations, SkyCargo, Service
Delivery, and dnata Technical Services. They were joined by prominent industry
partners such as the University of Cambridge, UAE GCAA, Airbus, Boeing, ENOC,
Cobus Industries, TLD, Mallaghan, GE Aerospace, Rolls-Royce, and Dubai Airports
— all sharing insights into advancing sustainable aviation practices.

Adel
Al Redha, Emirates’ Deputy President & Chief Operations Officer, opened the
event by stating:
"Today’s
event is about celebrating our sustainability journey while inspiring our teams
through real-world initiatives and engaging discussions. Environmental
responsibility is integral to our long-term vision, and it supports the UAE’s
Net Zero 2050 Strategy."
He
emphasized that with rising expectations from governments and communities,
collective action across the aviation ecosystem is crucial. Emirates continues
to advance emissions reduction efforts while pursuing resource conservation
through recycling and sustainable sourcing.

opportunity to reduce environmental impact."

partners Ecyclex and Reloop demonstrated waste stream recycling processes —
including e-waste — in partnership with Emirates Group IT. Falcon Aircraft
Recycling showcased products made from retired aircraft components. Dubai Can
presented updates on the Dubai Reef project, the world’s largest purpose-built
reef initiative. The UN Global Compact outlined the Sustainable Development
Goals and global sustainability principles. Dubai Airports shared its
innovations in waste reduction across the airport ecosystem.

Engagement
Employees
took part in games, quizzes, and sustainability-themed challenges, with prizes
awarded. One unique initiative — the Bottle Wall — encouraged staff to donate
plastic bottles, which were upcycled into custom plant pots for participants to
take home as a symbol of sustainable action.
