Lazenby Preserve has launched the first phase of a new
master-planned outdoor community in Lee County, Kentucky, offering private home
sites near the popular Red River Gorge recreation area. Designed around
conservation and low-impact development, the project aims to meet growing
demand for nature-based living while preserving large areas of open landscape.
Located just minutes from Slade, one of the main
gateways to Red River Gorge, the development combines residential opportunities
with long-term environmental stewardship. As tourism continues to grow in the
region, the project is intended to provide options for second-home owners,
weekend visitors and investors seeking extended stays close to one of the
eastern United States' most visited outdoor destinations.
Preservation at the heart of the project
Rather than focusing on high-density development,
Lazenby Preserve has allocated approximately 1,800 acres for recreational use.
Property owners will have access to hiking trails, riding routes, wildlife
viewing areas and lakes, while much of the surrounding landscape will remain
protected.
“Our vision is to create a place where people can slow
down, enjoy the land, and feel connected to the outdoors,” said Virginia “Gigi”
Lazenby. “Whether it is time on the trails, by the lakes, or simply getting
away, we want this to be a place people can return to, with opportunities for a
range of homes, short-term stays, and outdoor experiences.”
Variety of property options planned
The first homesites are now available in the Zachariah
Landing section of the community. Future phases will introduce larger parcels
within gated neighbourhoods, where custom-built homes will take advantage of
the area's mountainous terrain and scenic views.
The overall master plan also includes dedicated areas
for RVs and tent camping. These facilities will be located separately from
residential neighbourhoods to maintain privacy and preserve the character of
the community.
Responding to changing lifestyle trends
According to the developers, the project reflects
increasing demand for residential communities that combine private ownership
with direct access to nature and outdoor recreation. By integrating protected
land with carefully planned development, Lazenby Preserve aims to offer a
long-term model for sustainable growth in one of Kentucky's most popular
outdoor destinations.
Additional phases of the development are currently
being prepared as the community continues to expand.
