Delta earns Civic 50 recognition for ninth consecutive year

Delta Air Lines has been named to The Civic 50 for the ninth consecutive year, making it the only commercial airline recognised in the 2026 ranking. The distinction places Delta among the top 25 percent of the most frequently honoured companies in the programme's 14-year history and highlights its long-term commitment to community engagement and corporate responsibility.

Presented by Points of Light, The Civic 50 is regarded as one of the leading benchmarks for corporate citizenship in the United States. The annual assessment recognises companies with at least US$1 billion in domestic revenue that demonstrate strong performance in community investment, business integration, governance and the measurement of social impact.

Recognition reflects long-term community commitment

In announcing the award, Points of Light highlighted Delta's ability to embed community engagement throughout its business and corporate culture.

“Today’s leading companies understand that community engagement is more than a program — it’s a reflection of their commitment to advancing social impact in ways that strengthen both their company and the communities they serve,” said Jennifer Sirangelo, President and CEO of Points of Light. “Delta demonstrates how to embed purpose into the employee experience, build authentic relationships with communities and use business as a force for good. We’re proud to honor them with the 2026 Civic 50 award.”

Employees and customers drive charitable impact

According to the 2025 Delta Difference Report, Delta and The Delta Air Lines Foundation contributed more than US$72.5 million to charitable causes during 2025. Employees and customers also raised US$18.5 million for community organisations, while Delta staff recorded more than 134,000 volunteer hours worldwide.

Chief Executive Officer Ed Bastian credited the airline's workforce for the achievement.

“This recognition belongs to the Delta people,” said Bastian. “Beyond the work they do to care for our customers every day, our employees give their time, talent and heart to strengthen our communities around the world. I'm proud of the difference they're making and honored to see this consistent recognition.”

Data-driven assessment of corporate citizenship

The Civic 50 survey is administered by True Impact and is the only ranking system dedicated exclusively to measuring corporate community engagement. Participating companies are evaluated through a comprehensive, data-based assessment examining how effectively social impact is integrated across business operations, policies and long-term strategy.

With its ninth consecutive inclusion, Delta remains one of the programme's most consistently recognised companies and the only commercial airline represented in the 2026 edition.
