Eurowings,
the value carrier of the Lufthansa Group, is set to redefine comfort on
European medium-haul routes with the introduction of a new Premium BIZ seat –
the airline’s first-ever true business class product on narrow-body aircraft.
Launching in November 2025, the enhanced seating experience will debut on the
Berlin–Dubai route and be available for booking from August via eurowings.com.
The
new Premium BIZ seats, developed by Italian seat manufacturer Geven, offer a
2-2 layout in the Airbus A320neo, replacing the standard 3-3 economy
configuration. Featuring generous padding, ergonomic design, and adjustable
backrests, the seats deliver significantly more space, comfort, and privacy –
bringing a level of sophistication typically reserved for wide-body aircraft to
shorter routes.
Multiple
Comfort Options on Board
Each
A320neo will include eight Premium BIZ seats as part of the broader BIZclass
product tier. Alongside this new offering, Eurowings continues to provide a
range of fare options tailored to customer needs, including:
·
BIZclass: includes more legroom and a
blocked middle seat
·
SMART: with optional extra legroom and
added benefits
·
BASIC: the streamlined economy fare
“With
our new Premium BIZ seat, we are setting a new standard for comfort on
medium-haul routes,” said Jens Bischof, CEO of Eurowings. “Business travellers
and holidaymakers alike will benefit from greater privacy and a significantly
enhanced onboard atmosphere. This product solidifies Eurowings’ position as
Europe’s leading value airline.”
Part
of a Broader Innovation Drive
The
new seating concept marks the first step in a larger Eurowings product and
service offensive. As the airline prepares for a major fleet renewal from 2027
– with the introduction of 40 new Boeing 737-8 MAX aircraft – the Premium BIZ
seat will serve as a testbed for future cabin innovations across the Lufthansa
Group.
Market
trials beginning with the 2025/26 winter schedule are expected to inform
broader fleet configurations in the years ahead. Additional product
enhancements will follow throughout the year, aimed at improving the travel
experience across all fare classes – not just for business travellers.
With
this move, Eurowings is bridging the gap between low-cost efficiency and
premium comfort – and bringing new value to medium-haul travel in Europe.
