Hilton has announced the opening of Elika Cave Suites
Cappadocia, Curio Collection by Hilton, marking the company’s first cave hotel
worldwide. Located in Ortahisar, one of Cappadocia’s most authentic towns, the
36-room property offers guests an immersive experience rooted in the region’s
unique history, architecture and culture.
Set within a UNESCO-listed landscape known for its
fairy chimneys and rock-carved dwellings, the hotel has been carefully restored
from centuries-old cave structures while incorporating modern comforts and
upscale amenities.
Historic caves transformed into luxury accommodation
The property features 36 individually designed rooms
and suites, each shaped by the original cave formations and enhanced with
locally crafted stone, wood, ceramic and textile elements. Accommodation
options include cave suites with private pools, traditional Turkish hammams,
fireplaces and hot tubs, while selected suites offer terrace jacuzzis and
panoramic views of the surrounding valleys.
As Hilton’s first cave hotel, Elika Cave Suites aims
to provide a destination-led experience that encourages guests to engage with
Cappadocia’s living heritage and distinctive atmosphere.
Expanding Hilton’s lifestyle portfolio in Türkiye
“For 70 years, Hilton has been welcoming guests across
Türkiye,” said David Kelly, Senior Vice President, Continental Europe, Hilton.
“The opening of Elika Cave Suites Cappadocia, Curio Collection by Hilton,
builds on that commitment and reflects the strong momentum behind our lifestyle
growth.”
According to Hilton, lifestyle hotels now represent a
growing share of its development pipeline in Türkiye, with Curio Collection
focusing on properties that reflect the character and identity of their
destinations.
Anatolian cuisine and cave wellness experiences
Dining at the hotel centres on Cappadocian and
Anatolian culinary traditions, reinterpreted through contemporary techniques
and locally sourced ingredients. The restaurant’s menu highlights regional
flavours while reflecting the cultural heritage of the destination.
The wellness facilities include a cave spa, hammam,
steam room, sauna, treatment rooms and outdoor pool. Designed around the
natural qualities of stone, water and light, the wellness concept draws
inspiration from traditional Turkish bathing culture while offering a modern
spa experience.
A quieter side of Cappadocia
Situated beside the iconic Ortahisar Castle, the hotel
offers travellers a more authentic perspective on Cappadocia, away from some of
the region’s busier tourist centres. Ortahisar is recognised as a Cittaslow
destination and remains known for its traditional character, stone houses and
local way of life.
“We are pleased to welcome our guests to Elika Cave
Suites Cappadocia, Curio Collection by Hilton,” said General Manager Nilüfer
Durukan. “Our objective was to preserve the region’s heritage while offering
contemporary comfort and one-of-a-kind moments formed by local identity and a
global perspective.”
With the opening of Elika Cave Suites Cappadocia,
Hilton further expands its presence in Türkiye while adding a distinctive new
property to the Curio Collection portfolio.
