The TUI Care Foundation has launched a new portfolio
of immersive experiences designed to bring travellers and local residents
closer to its global sustainability projects. The curated activities allow
participants to engage directly with initiatives ranging from marine ecosystem
protection and sustainable agriculture to cultural heritage preservation and
circular economy innovation.
“The experiences reflect the TUI Care Foundation’s
mission to connect holidaymakers with good causes,” says Alexander Panczuk,
Managing Director of the TUI Care Foundation. “They show how tourism can
benefit local communities, cultural heritage and natural ecosystems when it is
used as a force for good. Each experience is hosted by local partners and
communities involved in the projects themselves, offering visitors a rare
opportunity to learn, connect and contribute.”
Marine conservation from reef to community
In Bali, participants can snorkel above coral
restoration structures in Padangbai and learn how local communities, young
conservationists and trained divers collaborate to revive damaged reefs as part
of the TUI Sea the Change programme. Similar marine-focused experiences are
offered in the Dominican Republic, where guests join marine biologists on a
guided catamaran tour to explore coral restoration areas and understand the
role of healthy reef systems in supporting coastal livelihoods.
Sustainable food systems and island resilience
Cape Verde offers insight into innovative agriculture
through visits to Milot Hydroponic’s farm, part of the TUI Field to Fork
programme. Guests discover how sustainable food production is being developed
on an island with limited arable land, combined with exploration of coastal
villages, desert landscapes and the salt lakes of Pedra de Lume.
Circular economy in action
In Zanzibar, the Foundation’s Destination Zero Waste
programme comes to life at the Chako upcycling centre. Visitors see how
discarded glass is transformed into artisan tableware, lamps and decorative
items, creating skills, employment and economic opportunities while reducing
waste in a fragile island environment.
Culture, creativity and heritage
In Cambodia, the TUI Colourful Cultures programme
enables visitors to experience Phare, the Cambodian Circus, performed by young
artists trained at the Phare Ponleu Selpak school supported by the Foundation.
In Lanzarote, guests explore how responsible tourism, local architecture and
land use have evolved in harmony with nature, reflecting the island’s biosphere
status and long-standing commitment to environmental stewardship.
Storytelling and women-led guiding in cities
The most recently launched experiences include guided
city tours in London developed under the TUI Futureshapers London programme.
Led by women guides, the tours combine personal storytelling, cultural heritage
and landmark visits. One such experience is hosted by Nadia, a London-based
guide with roots in Damascus, who introduces guests to Syrian culture and
migration histories through narrative, place and a traditional tea ceremony.
The programme supports women in training as tour guides and building pathways
to financial independence.
All experiences are available via TUI Musement, TUI’s
tours and activities platform. Further details can be found at:
