Delta Air Lines and Starbucks are taking their
partnership to new heights with The In-Air Coffeehouse, an exclusive experience
for SkyMiles Members that turns a transcontinental flight into a coffee-themed
journey at 30,000 feet.
From Dec. 16–18, a select group of members will travel
from Atlanta to Costa Rica aboard a specially chartered aircraft designed to
evoke the warmth and aroma of a neighborhood café. On board, passengers will
enjoy an immersive tasting led by Starbucks baristas before landing at Hacienda
Alsacia, Starbucks’ coffee and innovation farm on the slopes of the Poás
Volcano.
A Group Adventure, No Miles Needed
To celebrate the launch of Delta’s new Group Drop
feature on SkyMiles Experiences, members can enter with a friend for a chance
to win seats on this one-of-a-kind journey — no miles required. Entries are
open from Oct. 27 through Nov. 3.
“SkyMiles Membership makes loyalty mean more — more
access, more value and more connection to the things that matter most,” said Joshua
Kaehler, Managing Director of Delta’s SkyMiles Loyalty Partnerships. “Together
with iconic partners like Starbucks, we’re creating elevated experiences that
inspire our members to keep choosing Delta — not just for where we take them,
but for how we make them feel along the way.”
A Café Above the Clouds
Departing from Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta
International Airport (ATL) on Dec. 16, The In-Air Coffeehouse will invite
passengers into a reimagined cabin that fuses Delta’s signature hospitality
with Starbucks’ coffee heritage. Interactive moments — from aroma workshops to
guided tastings — will unfold mid-flight, blending comfort, craftsmanship and
storytelling.
“Coffee is at the heart of everything we do,” said Erin
Silvoy, SVP, Global Marketing at Starbucks. “Partnering with Delta on this
unforgettable experience allows us to celebrate the journey of Starbucks coffee
— from bean to cup — beginning at our Hacienda Alsacia farm in Costa Rica.”
Immersed in Coffee and Culture
Upon arrival, guests will spend two nights in Belén,
beginning with a relaxed evening and optional morning yoga session before a
full day at Hacienda Alsacia. Surrounded by more than 800,000 coffee
trees, participants will:
·
Explore the bean-to-cup process through guided farm tours and hands-on
harvesting.
·
Enjoy exclusive coffee tastings and food pairings available only at
Hacienda Alsacia.
·
Experience Costa Rican hospitality through local cuisine and live
entertainment.
A Toast to Connection
“As Delta soars into our next 100 years of flight,
we’re more passionate than ever about connecting customers to the people,
places and experiences they love,” said Alicia Tillman, Chief Marketing Officer
at Delta. “There’s no better duo for travelers and coffee lovers than Delta and
Starbucks.”
