As Delta Air Lines prepares to celebrate its 100th
anniversary, the carrier is introducing a new uniform collection for its above-
and below-wing employees. The “Distinctly Delta” collection, created in
collaboration with Lands’ End, reflects the airline’s premium evolution while
staying true to its heritage of innovation and service.
“There’s no better manifestation of the Delta brand
than the Delta people who wear our uniform,” said Ranjan Goswami, Senior Vice
President of Customer Experience Design. “This collection represents a new era
for Delta – honoring our past while leading us into the next 100 years.”
Designed with purpose, crafted for real life
Every item in the collection was designed for
function, comfort and performance across diverse working conditions – from
ground crews facing extreme weather to flight attendants crossing multiple
climates in a single day. Pocket placement, fabric composition and tailoring
were all refined based on feedback from 65,000 Delta employees, ensuring that
every detail feels both premium and practical.
Safety remains non-negotiable: each garment meets
rigorous industry standards, including STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® certification
for fabric safety.
Iconic colors, reimagined classics
The new design language brings back Delta’s signature
palette – Navigator Navy, Boarding Burgundy and Runway Red – inspired by the
airline’s tail and the iconic Delta Widget. A new hue, Powerful Pink, continues
Delta’s two-decade partnership with the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, worn
proudly by employees every October.
Among the highlights: the return of the wrap dress, an
early-2000s favorite that became an instant icon. “Our people said ‘bring it
back,’ so we did – without hesitation,” said Ekrem Dimbiloglu, Managing
Director of Uniform and Onboard Brand Experience.
Premium from curb to cloud
Delta’s aspiration to be America’s premium airline now
extends to its people’s appearance. The Elite Collection, woven with subtle
jacquard Widget patterns, unites top-tier roles such as Red Coats, Sky Club
Ambassadors and Pursers for the first time under one design family.
Delta is also collaborating with Missoni, the renowned
Italian fashion house, on a refined line of accessories – scarves, ties and
pocket squares that echo Missoni’s craftsmanship and Delta’s timeless
aesthetic. Comfort brand Bombas joins as a partner, providing custom-branded
black socks for all employees.
Dressing for the Delta of tomorrow
The Distinctly Delta collection was shaped through a
deeply collaborative, multi-year process placing employees at the heart of
design. “We’re not just dressing for today,” Dimbiloglu said. “We’re dressing
for the Delta we are becoming.”
Wear-testing begins in summer 2026, with full rollout
across all divisions in 2027 – marking a new chapter of Delta style for the
next century of flight.
