The
Lufthansa Group is set to launch a significant enhancement to its loyalty
offering: starting 1 July 2025, all Frequent Travelers within the Lufthansa
Group loyalty program will gain access to ITA Airways lounges—marking a major
step in the harmonization of benefits across Group carriers.
This
expansion notably strengthens the premium travel experience to and via Italy,
as it significantly enlarges the available lounge network, particularly at key
airports such as Milan, Rome, and Catania.
Enhanced
Travel Benefits for Status Customers
Lounge
Access: From 1 July 2025, Frequent Travelers, Senators, and HON Circle Members
can access ITA Airways lounges. Access for Senators and HON Circle Members has
been in place since March.
Priority
Services: Status customers on ITA Airways flights benefit from priority
check-in, additional baggage allowance, and waitlist priority.
Exclusive
for Senators and HON Members: Priority boarding, Fast Track security, expedited
baggage handling, and complimentary seat reservations ensure a seamless
journey.
Dieter
Vranckx, CCO of Lufthansa Group, commented:
“Harmonizing
status benefits across our Group reflects our ongoing commitment to delivering
a seamless and first-class experience. This move adds convenience and
flexibility for our most loyal guests.”
Marcus
Frank, VP Loyalty at Lufthansa Group, added:
“These
new benefits are part of our broader efforts to enhance our loyalty program and
provide additional value to frequent travelers.”
Integration
Already Underway
Following
ITA Airways' integration as the fifth network airline in the Lufthansa Group,
several steps have already been taken to align services:
Since
February 2025, Miles & More members have been earning and redeeming miles
on ITA Airways flights, including Points, Qualifying Points, and HON Circle
Points (for Business Class).
In
March 2025, ITA Airways moved to Terminal 1 in Frankfurt and Terminal 2 in
Munich, aligning operations with other Group carriers at Lufthansa hubs.
Since
the launch of the summer 2025 schedule, customers benefit from over 100 new
codeshare connections across Europe.
Starting
1 July 2025, codeshare partnerships will expand to include long-haul routes.
ITA
Airways is expected to join Star Alliance in early 2026, further integrating
its offering.
