Hyatt is expanding its presence in Berlin with plans
to convert the Hotel Palace Berlin into the Hyatt Regency Palace Berlin. A
Hyatt affiliate has entered into a franchise agreement for the property, which
is expected to join the Hyatt Regency brand and the World of Hyatt loyalty
programme in early 2027.
The established hotel in Berlin’s City West will
undergo a phased renovation ahead of the transition. Located opposite Berlin
Zoo and within walking distance of Kurfürstendamm and the Europa-Center, the
property combines a central leisure location with extensive facilities for
meetings and business travel.
278 rooms and suites in City West
The Hotel Palace Berlin currently offers 239
guestrooms and 39 suites. Its facilities include the beef45 restaurant, two
bars, a spa and swimming pool as well as a club lounge that is expected to be
redesigned as a Regency Club.
Meetings and events are another major part of the
property. Around 2,600 square metres of event space are spread across 18
venues, with capacity for gatherings of up to 900 guests.
The planned modernization will focus particularly on
guestrooms and public areas. Hyatt says the redesign will introduce new social
spaces while adapting the accommodation to the Hyatt Regency concept for
business and leisure travelers.
Hotel Palace management sees benefits from global
brand
“We are excited to join the Hyatt family,” says
Michael Frenzel, General Manager of Hotel Palace Berlin. “This collaboration
will allow us to combine the unique character and quality of our hotel with the
global strength of the Hyatt Regency brand.”
Frenzel expects the affiliation to provide additional
benefits for guests, customers and employees while allowing the property to
continue building on its existing position in the Berlin hotel market.
Gabriela Basovska, Director Development Northern
Europe at Hyatt, points in particular to the location and meeting business.
“Hotel Palace Berlin has built an exceptional
reputation over many years, and we're excited to welcome it to the Hyatt
Regency brand,” she says. “Its prime City West location, premium hospitality
and exceptional meeting facilities make it a natural fit for a brand built
around bringing people together.”
Fourth Hyatt Regency hotel planned in Germany
The Berlin property is expected to become the fourth
Hyatt Regency hotel in Germany. The brand is already represented by Hyatt
Regency hotels in Cologne, Düsseldorf and Mainz.
For Hyatt, the conversion also strengthens a growing
portfolio in the German capital. The group is already represented in Berlin by
Grand Hyatt Berlin, Me and All Hotel Berlin East Side and Lindner Hotel Berlin
Ku’damm, part of JdV by Hyatt, as well as five properties affiliated with Mr
& Mrs Smith.
Across Germany, Hyatt had 25 hotels with more than
5,000 rooms under eight brands at the end of the second quarter of 2026.
Hyatt Regency grows beyond 245 hotels
Globally, Hyatt Regency comprises more than 245 hotels
in over 50 countries. The full-service brand focuses on a combination of
business travel, meetings, events and leisure stays.
Further details on the renovation and the exact
opening date of Hyatt Regency Palace Berlin are due to be announced as the
project progresses.
