The 11th World Halal Summit and Halal Expo 2025 will
take place in Istanbul from 26–29 November, focusing on “innovation and
excellence in halal trade.” The event is being organized under the auspices of
the Turkish presidency, in partnership with the Organization of Islamic
Cooperation (OIC), the Turkish Trade Ministry, and the Halal Accreditation
Agency. Anadolu serves as the global communications partner.
A $7 trillion global market
According to Aylin Sengul, Coordinator of the World
Halal Summit, the global halal economy has exceeded $7 trillion in value, with Türkiye
among the leading countries generating high added value within this market.
“This year, exhibitors from more than 40 countries
will participate, and we expect over 9,000 international visitors,” Sengul
said. “Countries from across the Turkic world—such as Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan,
Kyrgyzstan, and Kazakhstan—alongside Indonesia, Malaysia, and several European
and African nations, will take part as both exhibitors and visitors.”
Expanding beyond food: a multi-sector halal ecosystem
While halal food remains a cornerstone of the
industry, the event will also feature sectors including hygiene, cosmetics,
cleaning products, health, finance, tourism, clothing, and textiles. Sengul
emphasized that these diverse fields contribute to the expanding commercial
potential of the halal market.
“The conferences, country cooperation forums, and
business-to-business meetings organized during the summit will foster new
partnerships and generate significant commercial opportunities,” she added.
Strengthening global connections
In addition to core halal industries, transportation,
logistics, information technology, and software will also play an increasingly
important role, enhancing the efficiency and competitiveness of halal supply
chains worldwide.
By bringing together government representatives,
industry leaders, and entrepreneurs, the World Halal Summit and Halal Expo 2025
aim to strengthen Türkiye’s position as a hub for innovation and excellence in
the global halal economy.
