Oceania Cruises opens 12 segments of 2028 world voyage for booking

Oceania Cruises has opened 12 individual segments of the inaugural 180-day Around the World voyage aboard Oceania Aurelia for sale. The shorter itineraries range from 10 to 19 days and allow passengers to experience selected sections of the ship’s first global journey without booking the entire six-month voyage.

The world cruise will depart Miami in January 2028 and travel across six continents. Among the individual options are an 18-day voyage from Los Angeles to Papeete, a two-week sailing from Sydney to Bali and a 12-day itinerary linking Taipei with Tokyo.

World cruise divided into shorter journeys

The new segments are designed around individual regions rather than simply functioning as embarkation and disembarkation points along the full itinerary. They include routes through Central America, the South Pacific, Southeast Asia, East Asia and the Mediterranean.

“Oceania Aurelia was designed for travelers who want to explore the world in comfortable elegance – where space, warmth and personalized care allow them to fully relax and enjoy the journey on a ship that truly feels like home,” said Jason Montague, Chief Luxury Officer of Oceania Cruises.

“Whether tracing the atolls of the South Pacific or threading through ports of the Mediterranean, these 12 segments give the opportunity to experience a chapter of Oceania Aurelia’s remarkable 180-day global journey.”

From the Panama Canal to the South Pacific

One of the first segments is the 17-day “Two Oceans Odyssey”, departing Miami for Los Angeles on 19 January 2028. The voyage passes through the Panama Canal and includes destinations in Colombia, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Nicaragua and Mexico.

The South Pacific is represented by the 19-day “South Pacific Serenade” from Papeete to Sydney, departing on 23 February. Calls include Bora Bora, Pago Pago, Vava'u, Lautoka, Port Vila and Noumea.

Across the complete world voyage, overnight stays are planned in destinations including Papeete, Bora Bora and Sydney.

Extensive programme in Asia

Several of the shorter voyages focus on Asia. “Isles of the Orient” departs Bali on 27 March for a 14-day journey to Taipei. The itinerary includes Jakarta, Singapore, Puerto Princesa, Coron, Manila, Salomague and Hualien.

The 12-day “Pearls of East Asia” follows on 10 April, sailing from Taipei to Tokyo. Passengers visit Busan in South Korea before continuing through Japan with calls including Kagoshima, Nagasaki, Kochi and Osaka.

On 2 May, the 12-day “Treasures of Southeast Asia” departs Hong Kong for Bangkok. The route includes Hanoi via Ha Long Bay, Ho Chi Minh City, Sihanoukville and the Thai island of Ko Kood.

The complete world cruise also features overnight stays in Tokyo, Bangkok, Bali and Mumbai.

Mediterranean segment from Istanbul to Barcelona

Europe is represented by the 14-day “Timeless Mediterranean” itinerary, departing Istanbul on 20 June 2028 and ending in Barcelona.

The voyage takes passengers through the eastern and western Mediterranean, with destinations including Athens, Katakolon, Messina, Salerno, Rome, Florence and Pisa via Livorno, Nice, Saint-Tropez, Sète and Palamós.

Across the full 180-day itinerary, Oceania Cruises plans thousands of small-group shore excursions focusing on local culture, cuisine and heritage. Nearly 100 UNESCO World Heritage sites will be within reach during the voyage.

The 12 newly released segments are now available for booking, offering shorter alternatives to Oceania Aurelia’s complete 2028 Around the World journey.
