Angola has been officially announced as the host country of ITB Berlin 2026, marking a milestone both for the nation and the African continent. Speaking at the Angolan Embassy in Berlin, Tourism Minister Marcio Daniel described the day as “emotional and historic,” highlighting the deep symbolic meaning behind the partnership.
“This is a very historic day,” Daniel said. “It’s amazing for Angola. It’s amazing for Africa. We would like to thank ITB for choosing us. We will do our best to support not only Angola, but Africa – its countries, its cultures – and to show the world the continent with the fastest-growing population on Earth.”
Angola’s participation comes at a time of growing continental significance: the country currently holds the presidency of the African Union. Daniel emphasized that tourism will be a key driver for job creation, cultural exchange, and sustainable growth across Africa.
Under the motto “Rhythm of Life”, Angola plans to showcase its diverse landscapes, vibrant traditions, and warm hospitality – from colonial heritage cities to traditional southern tribes and vast natural reserves. “It’s an amazing opportunity to show how vibrant our culture and people are,” Daniel said. “Please visit Angola – feel the rhythm of life.”
In addition to ITB Berlin, Angola will also serve as host country of CMT Stuttgart 2026, the leading consumer travel fair in the German-speaking markets. “It’s a big wave of opportunities,” Daniel noted. “We are ready to welcome the world.”
