Hilton is preparing another year of international expansion, with new hotel openings planned across more than 30 countries in 2027. The development pipeline includes luxury properties in major cities, beachfront resorts, lifestyle hotels and accommodation designed for longer stays. Several of the projects will introduce established Hilton brands to new national markets, while others will bring historic buildings back into use as hotels.
Among the most prominent openings are the first Waldorf Astoria hotels in Tokyo and Sydney, the arrival of Conrad Hotels & Resorts in Vietnam and the introduction of Signia by Hilton to the Asia-Pacific region. Hilton also plans to expand its presence in Latin America, with Homewood Suites by Hilton entering Brazil and new lifestyle accommodation planned for Mexico City.
The announced developments illustrate the group's strategy of expanding different hotel categories simultaneously. Luxury hotels in major international destinations will be complemented by properties aimed at travellers seeking distinctive local experiences, coastal holidays or accommodation for extended visits. The programme also includes the conversion of historic landmarks, most notably Michigan Central Station in Detroit, where a new NoMad hotel is planned.
Luxury Brands Enter New Asian Markets
Asia-Pacific is expected to play a significant role in Hilton's 2027 expansion. The planned Waldorf Astoria openings in Tokyo and Sydney will extend the luxury brand's presence in two important international tourism and business destinations.
Sydney will also see the Australian debut of LXR Hotels & Resorts, while Motto by Hilton is scheduled to enter the Australian market. These developments will introduce different hotel concepts, ranging from luxury accommodation to more compact, urban lifestyle properties.
Hilton is also preparing the first Signia by Hilton properties in Asia-Pacific, with planned brand entries in India and Taiwan. The brand's expansion adds another segment to the group's regional portfolio.
In Southeast Asia, Conrad Phu Quoc will mark the arrival of Hilton's luxury brands in Vietnam. Located on the island of Phu Quoc, the project will extend the group's luxury offering into one of the country's established coastal tourism destinations.
Malaysia is another market scheduled for a brand debut, with the introduction of Curio Collection by Hilton. The collection focuses on individual hotels with distinctive identities, often reflecting the character and cultural setting of their destinations.
The Maldives will meanwhile welcome its first Tapestry Collection by Hilton property, adding a new accommodation concept to the island nation's resort market.
Historic Buildings and New Lifestyle Hotels
One of the most distinctive projects in Hilton's announced pipeline is NoMad Detroit, which will be located within the historic Michigan Central Station.
The landmark railway building has undergone a major transformation, and the planned hotel will introduce the NoMad brand to the United States. The project reflects a broader hospitality trend in which historically significant buildings are adapted for contemporary hotel use while retaining their architectural identity.
Hilton is also planning new lifestyle hotels in New Orleans and Mexico City. Both destinations are known for their distinctive cultural identities, making them suitable locations for accommodation concepts that emphasize local character and experiences.
For Mexico City, the planned development will add to the range of internationally branded lifestyle accommodation available in one of Latin America's major urban tourism markets.
The expansion into Brazil will take a different direction. Homewood Suites by Hilton is scheduled to make its debut in the country, introducing an extended-stay accommodation concept designed for guests requiring facilities suited to longer visits.
Beach Resorts and Extended-Stay Accommodation
Hilton's development programme also includes new beachfront properties in destinations ranging from Miami Beach to the Greek island of Mykonos. These projects will expand the group's resort portfolio in established leisure markets.
At the same time, Hilton plans additional extended-stay accommodation in Hawaii and Prince Edward Island in Canada. Such properties serve travellers seeking longer visits, often with more residential-style facilities than those typically found in conventional hotels.
The combination of resort developments, urban lifestyle properties and extended-stay hotels reflects the diversity of travel purposes addressed by Hilton's expanding brand portfolio.
The group is also positioning its new openings against changing traveller expectations. According to Hilton's 2027 travel trends report, 76% of surveyed travellers agree that having a trip planned gives them something meaningful to work toward.
Hilton's loyalty programme, Hilton Honors, will continue to connect the growing portfolio, allowing members to earn and redeem points at participating properties.
The announced openings remain subject to individual development and launch schedules. Hilton has not provided confirmed opening dates for every property in the overview, meaning that the precise availability of individual hotels will need to be checked as 2027 approaches.
For the international travel industry, the expansion will introduce additional hotel options across several segments and destinations. Particularly relevant are the planned brand debuts in Asia-Pacific, the extension of Hilton's portfolio in Brazil and Mexico, and the introduction of new resort and lifestyle accommodation in established tourism markets.
