The Hotel Riu Palace Nautilus in Torremolinos has
reopened after an extensive renovation, becoming the first RIU Palace property
in Andalusia. With the transformation, the hotel has been upgraded to the
chain’s premium RIU Palace category, marking the arrival of this higher
standard brand on the Spanish mainland. The refurbishment introduces a new
restaurant, improved sea views and a bright, elegant design throughout the
entire property.
The four-star hotel enjoys a prime location just 20
metres from the Mediterranean Sea and offers convenient access to Málaga
Airport as well as the nearby municipality of Benalmádena. All guest rooms have
been fully renovated and feature a timeless design with neutral colour palettes
that create a calm and contemporary atmosphere intended to promote relaxation.
Redesigned spaces and enhanced guest experience
All public areas of the Hotel Riu Palace Nautilus have
been completely redesigned. The lobby has been reconfigured to maximise views
of the Mediterranean from the moment guests arrive. Natural light has been
enhanced throughout the space, while materials have been carefully selected to
create a sense of openness and brightness.
The resulting interior concept combines elegance and
freshness while preserving elements of classic style that reflect the hotel’s
longstanding identity.
The hotel’s culinary offering has also been expanded
with the addition of the Krystal restaurant, a gourmet à-la-carte venue. It
complements the main restaurant, which has also undergone a full renovation
with expanded space and a larger terrace.
Sustainability and accessibility improvements
The renovation was carried out in line with RIU’s
sustainability strategy, Proudly Committed. The project introduced several
energy-efficiency measures across the property, including heat exchangers,
high-efficiency air-conditioning systems and the installation of photovoltaic
solar panels.
Accessibility has also been improved throughout the
hotel’s public areas. In addition, the number of adapted rooms has been
increased, with the property now offering eleven accessible rooms.
Continued investment in Andalusia
RIU currently operates four hotels in Andalusia,
including one in Chiclana, one in Nerja and two in Torremolinos. The renovation
of the Hotel Riu Palace Nautilus represents the latest step in a series of
upgrades carried out by the company in recent years.
Through these investments, RIU continues to strengthen
its commitment to quality and its long-term presence in one of Spain’s most
important tourism regions.
