The strikes are scheduled for the weekends of August 8-11, August 15-18, August 22-25, and August 29-September 1.
The British government department's circular warns that the strikes, called by baggage handling staff, may cause flight delays. “If you are traveling on any of these weekends, please stay tuned for announcements and follow the recommendations of your airline or tour operator,” it said.
According to travelweekly, in light of this situation, TAP Air Portugal recommends that passengers with flights connecting to or departing from Portugal check their flight status before heading to the airport. “If it is confirmed, check in online and go to the airport in advance, avoiding checking in any luggage,” reads the company's website.
