BRICS, an international economic and political cooperation bloc, is named after the initial letters of its founding members: Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa. Countries such as Iran, Egypt, Ethiopia, and the United Arab Emirates have since joined the group.

The tourism sector in BRICS countries is on a strong growth trajectory. A key contribution comes from government investments in modernizing tourism infrastructure, improving accessibility, and developing digital tourism ecosystems. Governments in India, South Africa, China, Brazil, and Russia are investing in airports, transport networks, accommodation infrastructure, and tourism development programs to support long-term growth.

Rising demand for personalized travel experiences, the expansion of online travel agencies, and the increasing purchasing power of the middle class in BRICS countries are further strengthening long-term market growth. All these developments are turning BRICS tourism into a global force.

The report also emphasizes that South Africa, India, China, Russia, and Brazil will be the main drivers of growth. China is highlighted for its strong domestic tourism ecosystem, annual growth rates of 5.2%, and extensive infrastructure investments. In Russia, regional tourism development and modernization initiatives are contributing to growth at an average annual rate of 4.9%. In Brazil, ecotourism is expected to grow by 4.5% annually, alongside increasing investments in the accommodation sector.

According to the report, key players in the industry include Thomas Cook, Cox and Kings, SOTC, Kesari Tours, and Expedia. Thomas Cook focuses on integrated tourism services and global travel infrastructure. Cox and Kings specializes in customized travel experiences and international tours. SOTC strengthens its position through regional expertise and a diversified offering. Kesari Tours focuses on group travel and local tourism packages. Expedia leverages digital booking systems and online travel technology platforms. Key competitive factors include the user-friendliness of digital booking systems, the customization of travel packages, service quality, geographic reach, and strategic partnerships in accommodation and transport.
