Royal Caribbean has announced the launch of its most
ambitious family ship to date — the Legend of the Seas, part of the
revolutionary Icon Class. Designed for travelers seeking both thrill and
relaxation, the ship promises unforgettable journeys to Europe and the Southern
Caribbean, blending world-class entertainment, imaginative dining, and
boundless adventure.
Starting July 2026, the Legend will cruise through the
Western Mediterranean from Barcelona and Rome (Civitavecchia), before
homeporting in Fort Lauderdale for Caribbean voyages in November 2026.
Culinary experiences around the world
With 28 dining venues, Legend of the Seas offers the
most dining options at sea. Highlights include:
·
Royal Railway – Legend Station: an immersive five-course dining
experience inside a vintage train car that takes guests on a sensory journey
along the ancient Silk Routes through China, India, and Italy.
·
Hollywoodland Supper Club: a glamorous evening of jazz, fine cuisine,
and cocktails inspired by Hollywood’s golden era, transporting diners from the
1910s to the 1950s.
·
AquaDome Market: a reimagined global food hall with five all-day food
stations and a new juice and smoothie bar.
·
From family-style meals at Surfside Eatery to premium seafood at Hooked
and teppanyaki at Izumi, the culinary offering reflects the ship’s global
spirit.
Nights of spectacle and music
Entertainment reaches new heights across sea, air,
ice, and stage. Highlights include:
·
Roald Dahl’s “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory” – the beloved Broadway
musical comes to sea for the first time, delighting audiences in the Royal
Theater.
·
AquaTheater – breathtaking performances featuring high divers,
aerialists, and robotic choreography under the vast AquaDome.
·
Absolute Zero – the largest ice arena at sea, home to spectacular
skating shows.
·
More than 20 bars and lounges, including Lou’s jazz club, Dueling
Pianos, and the stylish 1400 Lobby Bar.
Adventure redefined
Thrill seekers can take on Category 6, the largest
waterpark at sea, or test their courage at Crown’s Edge, part skywalk, part zip
line — suspended 154 feet above the ocean. The ship also features seven pools, 10
whirlpools, and an adults-only infinity pool at The Hideaway.
Families will enjoy a reimagined Surfside neighborhood
complete with a new carousel and upgraded play areas, while design icons like Central
Park with over 30,000 live plants and the Pearl kinetic art sculpture return as
signature Royal Caribbean landmarks.
Exploring Europe and the Caribbean
In summer 2026, Legend of the Seas will offer 7-night
Mediterranean itineraries, visiting historic cities such as Rome, Marseille,
Naples, and Palma de Mallorca. That November, she will sail to the Caribbean
with 6- and 8-night cruises from Fort Lauderdale to destinations including Aruba,
Curaçao, and Perfect Day at CocoCay — Royal Caribbean’s award-winning private
island paradise.
Sustainability at sea
The Legend of the Seas will be Royal Caribbean’s
fourth LNG-powered ship, incorporating advanced technologies such as waste heat
recovery systems and shore power connectivity. These innovations mark another
milestone in the company’s commitment to launching a net-zero cruise ship by
2035.
Vacations aboard Legend of the Seas are now open for
