Radisson Hotel Group has accelerated its expansion
strategy in Asia Pacific with the announcement of its inaugural hotel in
another South East Asian capital city: Vientiane, the capital of Laos. The
signing of Radisson RED Vientiane in partnership with La Vie Hotels &
Resorts marks the company's first Radisson RED brand in Laos, featuring
distinctive designs that inspire and connect guests to the destination. The new
hotel expands upon the milestone signing of a Master Collaboration Agreement
with La Vie Hotels & Resorts to incorporate over 30 hotels into the Group’s
portfolio over the next 10 years.
Projected to open its doors in Q4 2024, Radisson
RED Vientiane will introduce a new era of dynamic and stylish hospitality to
this rapidly-emerging city, with standout social spaces and designs tailored
for guests to unwind in a casual hotel setting. This opening will come at an
opportune time for Radisson Hotel Group; Laos welcomed more than 2.4 million
international visitors in the first nine months of 2023 – a 285% surge compared
to the same period last year¹. The country is now aiming to attract at least
4.6 million visitors and earn tourism revenues of USD 700 million this year²,
which has been designated “Visit Laos Year 2024.”
Radisson RED Vientiane is a new-build property that
will rise in the heart of the city, surrounded by government offices, shops,
markets and restaurants, and just a short distance from the Mekong River
waterfront. This (upper)upscale lifestyle hotel will offer 145 rooms and
suites, including a collection of Pool Access Rooms, plus a pool, pool bar,
restaurant, fitness center and business lounge. It will also set the stage for
world-class meetings and events with 487 square meters of function space, including
two ballrooms.
Vientiane’s Wattay International Airport is just 15
minutes’ drive from the new Radisson RED hotel, and the city’s rail terminal
offers high-speed train services to China and, in future, to Thailand.
Ms. Siphonekham Douangdara, Authorised Director of
TK Group Co., Ltd, commented: “We are thrilled to partner with Radisson
Hotel Group for the first time to develop this landmark hotel, which will bring
Radisson RED’s standout qualities of art, design and playfulness to Laos for
the first time. This bold brand fits perfectly within the city and its culture,
and I am confident that its modern, upbeat vibe will become popular among
visitors.”
Mr. David Nguyen, Managing Director, Indochina and
Strategic Partnerships, Radisson Hotel Group, added: “Radisson Hotel
Group’s entry into another South East Asian capital city is an important moment
for our company, as we accelerate our expansion strategy in Asia Pacific. Our
contemporary Radisson RED brand is the perfect fit for this up-and-coming
destination, which is attracting a rising number of business and leisure
travelers. We look forward to introducing guests to our trend-setting style of
flexible and free-spirited upscale hospitality.”
La Vie Hotels and Resorts’ Head of South and South
East Asia, Mr. Shankar Sreekumar, said: “La Vie and Radisson Hotel Group
have a longstanding relationship of providing exceptional guest experiences
across our shared portfolio and we are thrilled to build on our partnership to
launch the first Radisson RED hotel in Laos. The investment going into Laos at
the moment is impressive and Radisson RED will be a welcome addition to the
city, bringing an internationally recognized brand to the centre of town. We are
grateful for the partnership with TK Group as they are proud ambassadors of
Laos and together, we’re confident Radisson RED Vientiane will become a new
icon and leading destination for guests when they travel to Laos.”
The new Radisson RED hotel in Vientiane marks the
latest expansion for the brand with nearly 80 hotels in operation and under
development including recent openings and signings in Auckland, Berlin,
Tbilisi, Belgrade, Liverpool, and Lagos, as well as upcoming openings in Phuket
and Cebu.
