Civil Aviation Authority approves restart of operations after safety assessment

Qatar’s Civil Aviation Authority has approved the gradual resumption of foreign airlines’ operations through Hamad International Airport following a comprehensive safety review. The decision was announced through a Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) issued after coordination with national authorities to ensure operational readiness and efficiency.

According to the aviation authority, all flights and related activities will be conducted in line with internationally recognized safety and security standards. Officials said the necessary measures and precautions are in place to ensure the safety of passengers and aviation personnel as operations resume.

Ceasefire reduces immediate regional tensions

The decision comes as a two-week ceasefire between Iran and the United States continues to hold. The truce halted attacks by the US and Israel that had resulted in more than 3,300 deaths since February 28.

Diplomatic efforts to stabilize the situation are ongoing. Representatives from Washington and Tehran held rare direct talks in Pakistan on April 11, although the discussions ended without an agreement. Mediators are currently working to organize another round of negotiations in Islamabad.

Negotiations continue despite unresolved differences

Despite some progress in diplomatic contacts, significant differences remain between the two sides. Iran’s Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf stated on Sunday that major disagreements persist between Tehran and Washington, even though negotiations have advanced.

Against this backdrop, Qatar’s decision to reopen its aviation hub gradually is seen as a step toward restoring normal international air traffic through Doha while maintaining strict safety standards.
