Qatar
Airways has announced it will begin flights to The Red Sea, Saudi Arabia, with
three weekly services starting on 21 October 2025. The new route marks the
airline’s 12th destination in the Kingdom and expands access to one of the
Middle East’s most ambitious tourism projects.
Voices
from the industry
Qatar
Airways Group Chief Executive Officer, Engr. Badr Mohammed Al-Meer, said:
“Adding
The Red Sea to our global network is another step in providing the diverse
destinations that today’s travellers expect. As our 12th destination in Saudi
Arabia, it offers a unique range of Middle Eastern experiences, now fully
accessible through our award-winning hub at Hamad International Airport.”
John
Pagano, CEO of Red Sea Global, added:
“The
launch of these flights is a milestone in positioning The Red Sea as a premier
luxury destination. With new hotels and attractions opening, the route makes it
easier than ever for visitors to enjoy our natural beauty, discover Saudi
culture, and experience our regenerative approach to tourism.”
Expanding
connectivity
The
new flights will connect The Red Sea to more than 170 destinations worldwide
via Doha. Qatar Airways already operates over 130 weekly flights to Saudi
Arabia, linking travellers from six continents to key cities across the
Kingdom.
Destination
highlights
The
Red Sea region features over 90 untouched islands, vast canyons, ancient desert
landscapes, and one of the largest barrier reef systems in the world. Five
luxury hotels are currently open, with Shura Island set to debut the first of
11 resorts this year, alongside an 18-hole championship golf course, dining and
retail experiences, and cultural programming.
