Qatar Airways has unveiled a new Business Class dining
collaboration with acclaimed Filipino husband-and-wife team Jordy Navarra and May
Navarra. Available from 2 February 2026, the exclusive menu brings a
contemporary interpretation of Filipino cuisine to passengers travelling from
Manila to Doha, with the reverse route set to follow from July 2026.
Michelin-inspired cuisine in the skies
Chef Jordy Navarra is the chef-owner of Toyo Eatery, a
Michelin one-star restaurant in Manila. For Qatar Airways, he has designed a
five-course Business Class experience that translates fine-dining principles
into an onboard setting, combining refined techniques with familiar Filipino
flavours.
A menu rooted in local ingredients
The menu opens with seared chilled scallops, followed
by braised beef short ribs tiyula itum as the main course. Lighter options
include a pansit noodle ensalada, while breakfast features a purée of arroz
caldo. The experience concludes with a dessert of sans rival cake paired with
Philippine chocolate sorbet. Ingredients are sourced from local suppliers, with
an emphasis on sustainability and seasonality to showcase the diversity of
Filipino produce.
Part of an award-winning onboard concept
The collaboration underscores Qatar Airways’ continued
focus on premium inflight dining as part of its broader onboard offering. The
airline has built a reputation for culinary partnerships with leading chefs and
for elevating the Business Class experience across its network.
In 2024, Qatar Airways was named ‘World’s Best
Business Class’ for the 11th time and ‘World’s Best Airline’ for a record
eighth time by Skytrax. The carrier also holds titles including ‘World’s Best
Business Class Lounge’ and ‘Best Airline in the Middle East’.
Global network via Doha
Qatar Airways currently serves more than 170
destinations worldwide, connecting passengers through Hamad International
Airport, repeatedly recognised as the ‘World’s Best Airport’ by Skytrax. The
new Filipino-inspired Business Class menu adds another distinctive element to
the airline’s global premium offering, blending regional culinary identity with
international travel.
