Oceania Cruises has revealed a first look at the
maiden season of Oceania Sonata™, the first ship in its new Sonata Class, set
to debut in August 2027. The itineraries are now available to preview online,
with bookings opening on January 28, 2026.
The inaugural season spans 22 voyages from August 2027
to April 2028, covering more than 90 destinations on sailings ranging from
seven to 16 days. The 1,390-guest ship will travel through iconic European
capitals and coastal towns before continuing to the Caribbean, Mexico, and
Central and South America.
“Oceania Sonata’s inaugural season is defined by the
cultural diversity and geographic variety of the destinations she visits,” said
Jason Montague, Chief Luxury Officer of Oceania Cruises. “As the first of four
Sonata Class ships, her debut sets the tone for thoughtfully designed
itineraries, exceptional comfort and an unrushed freedom to explore.”
Destination-rich itineraries from Europe to the
Americas
Oceania Sonata’s maiden voyage departs Rome
(Civitavecchia) on August 7, 2027, on a 14-day journey to Trieste, calling at
destinations such as Valletta, Katakolon, Bar and Zadar. Throughout her
European season, the ship will combine well-known cities including Barcelona,
Athens and Lisbon with lesser-visited ports such as Paros, Koper and Sarandë.
Overnight stays in destinations like Istanbul, Bordeaux and Livorno allow for
deeper cultural immersion.
Following her Mediterranean program, Oceania Sonata
will cross the Atlantic to Miami to begin her inaugural tropical season.
Caribbean favorites such as Bridgetown and Tortola are paired with destinations
in Mexico and Central America, including a daylight transit of the Panama
Canal.
A new benchmark for Oceania Cruises
Designed as the most innovative ship in the fleet,
Oceania Sonata continues the line’s focus on destination-rich travel, elevated
comfort and culinary excellence. With one chef for every eight guests and a
wide range of complimentary dining venues, cuisine remains central to the
onboard experience, supported by expanded social spaces and enrichment
offerings.
With the launch of Oceania Sonata, Oceania Cruises
enters a new chapter, combining small-ship luxury with a fresh generation of
itineraries across Europe and the Americas.
