Moxy Hotels, part of Marriott Bonvoy’s portfolio of
more than 30 distinctive brands, has officially arrived in Mexico with the
opening of Moxy Tulum — the brand’s first property in the Caribbean and Latin
America (CALA).
With its irreverent energy, locally rooted design, and
community-driven spirit, Moxy Tulum ushers in a new chapter for Marriott
International’s expansion in high-demand lifestyle and leisure markets across
the region.
A New Energy for Tulum’s Hospitality Scene
Located across from National Jaguar Park and just
minutes from the Mayan Ruins, the 122-room hotel positions itself at the
intersection of adventure, creativity, and relaxation. Guests are within
walking distance of downtown Tulum’s bohemian mix of boutiques, art galleries,
wellness spas, and white-sand beaches.
“Expanding our global footprint with the vibrant Moxy
brand in Tulum marks an exciting milestone,” said Brian King, President,
Caribbean and Latin America, Marriott International. “Tulum’s captivating mix
of natural beauty, rich culture, and bohemian spirit aligns perfectly with
Moxy’s bold, playful vibe — making it an ideal destination for our next
chapter.”
Design that Breathes with the Jungle
Moxy Tulum’s architecture is inspired by the
surrounding jungle and designed to exist in harmony with nature. The Welcome
Area features locally carved wooden furniture and a glowing neon jaguar sign,
introducing guests to the hotel’s interactive “Find the Jaguar” game — a
signature brand experience encouraging playful exploration.
Colorful latticework and handcrafted clay textures
evoke the warmth and artistry of Mexico’s traditional crafts. Guestrooms
combine function and fun, with modular layouts, smart storage solutions, and a
touch of whimsy. Options include Double–Double Rooms with two queen beds and bunk-style
rooms ideal for groups or families.
Modern amenities — motion-activated lighting, keyless
entry, flat-screen TVs, and complimentary Wi-Fi — are paired with retro design
details like a powder-blue rotary phone. Guests can also enjoy a 24-hour gym
and book a Temazcal ceremony, an ancient indigenous steam ritual known for its
cleansing and spiritual benefits.
Eat, Drink + Play
At the heart of the property lies the Moxy Bar &
Restaurant, an open-concept space where the boundaries between indoors and
outdoors fade away. The bar serves craft cocktails, local brews, and small
plates inspired by regional ingredients, while the design blends industrial
chic with handcrafted artistry — think pop-culture murals, woven totems, and a double-height
ceiling draped in clay lamps and rope canopies.
The atmosphere is unapologetically Moxy: social,
spontaneous, and full of creative energy.
Redefining the Lifestyle Stay
With its fearless design, vibrant communal spaces, and
authentic local spirit, Moxy Tulum redefines what it means to stay in Tulum —
offering travelers a playful yet purposeful space to connect, recharge, and
explore. Whether guests come for yoga and wellness, creative inspiration, or
the nightlife, Moxy delivers a stay that’s as free-spirited and expressive as
Tulum itself.
Welcome to Moxy Tulum — where fun meets function, and
every moment sparks connection.
As part of Marriott Bonvoy, the brand’s award-winning
travel program, guests can earn and redeem points for stays, experiences, and
exclusive Marriott Bonvoy Moments, including access to over 30 unique brands
and all-inclusive resorts worldwide.
