Tourexpi
Since
its inaugural flight to the Lion City in 1965, the airline has played a vital
role in Singapore’s aviation landscape, linking the city-state to Europe and
the world with hallmark German efficiency and service. The anniversary
coincides with Singapore’s own 60th year of independence, making 2025 a
particularly meaningful milestone.
Over
the years, Lufthansa has not only ensured seamless travel but also contributed
to Singapore’s rise as a global hub. With a modern fleet, advanced services,
and a steadfast commitment to safety and comfort, the airline has built a
reputation for excellence in both business and leisure travel. Today,
passengers from Singapore enjoy direct connections to key European cities,
complemented by the Lufthansa Group’s close partnership and joint venture with
Singapore Airlines.
“As
an important gateway to the region, Singapore is integral to our Southeast Asia
strategy,” said Brendan Shashoua, Lufthansa Group Senior Director Sales –
Southeast Asia and the Pacific. “Coincidentally, as Singapore celebrates 60
years of independence, we also celebrate 60 years of flights to the Lion City.
With an investment that goes back six decades, we now operate 20 weekly
flights, connecting Singapore daily with our hubs in Frankfurt, Munich, and
Zurich.”
Lufthansa
Group’s enduring presence in Singapore stands as a symbol of strong
partnerships and shared history. This dual anniversary – 60 years of Lufthansa
flights and 60 years of Singapore – reflects the deep bond between Europe and
the Asia Pacific region and highlights the importance of Singapore as a key
gateway for the future.
