Kempinski Hotels, Europe’s oldest luxury hotel group,
together with international developer JTRE, has officially broken ground on Kempinski
Grace Bay, a landmark hotel and residential project set along the
world-renowned sands of Grace Bay Beach. The ceremony marked the beginning of a
new chapter for the islands, uniting European elegance with the natural beauty
and relaxed rhythm of Caribbean coastal life.
Ceremony marks next chapter in destination’s evolution
The late-afternoon event unfolded against Grace Bay’s
shimmering turquoise waters, attended by Hon. Charles Washington Misick,
Premier of the Turks and Caicos Islands; Her Excellency Anya Williams, Deputy
Governor; senior government officials; and international project partners.
“As global interest in the Turks and Caicos Islands
continues to grow, Kempinski Grace Bay brings one of the world’s most
distinguished hospitality names to our pristine shores,” Premier Misick said.
“This development is an important step in our evolution as a world-class
destination.”
Kempinski’s first Caribbean property
Set across 11 acres of secluded, untouched beachfront,
the project marks Kempinski’s debut in the Turks and Caicos Islands. Developed
by JTRE, the resort blends understated architecture with meticulous
craftsmanship and a commitment to preserving its natural surroundings.
“We look forward to welcoming guests and residents to
Kempinski Grace Bay,” said Barbara Muckermann, Group CEO of Kempinski Hotels.
“The property will stand as a flagship within our portfolio — an enduring
expression of our heritage, our craftsmanship and our belief that true luxury
is timeless.”
A new standard for beachfront living
The development features 119 private residences and four
oceanfront villas, all oriented toward unobstructed sea views. Interiors draw
from the island’s serene palette — limestone, timber and glass — creating
seamless transitions between indoor and outdoor living.
“This groundbreaking marks the start of a new chapter,
not only for Grace Bay but for the entire Turks and Caicos community,” said Marek
Baca, Chief Representative for the Americas at JTRE. “Our vision is to create a
sanctuary that blends timeless European elegance with the natural splendour of
Grace Bay.”
World-class amenities with sustainability at the core
Residents and guests will have access to an extensive
range of amenities, including:
·
Fine-dining venues
·
A beach club
·
A 3,000-sq-ft wine cellar
·
A European spa
·
Ocean-view fitness facilities
·
A sports pavilion with tennis and padel courts
·
A children’s club
·
Sustainability measures include insulated glass, solar systems, and
native landscaping irrigated with recycled water.
“Kempinski Grace Bay will be an iconic property for
the brand and a defining destination in the Americas,” noted Rasha Lababidi,
Chief Product & Experience Officer for Kempinski Hotels.
Partnership shaping a landmark project
Christophe Piffaretti, Chief Development Officer for
Kempinski Hotels, attended the groundbreaking, underscoring the strength of the
partnership between Kempinski and JTRE. The collaboration builds on JTRE’s
award-winning portfolio across Europe and reflects shared commitments to design
excellence, environmental stewardship and community engagement.
Construction continues through 2026, with completion
expected in 2028. Sales are exclusively represented by Christie’s International
Real Estate Turks & Caicos and Engel & Völkers Turks & Caicos.
Private ownership appointments are available upon request.
