In
celebration of its 70th anniversary, Disneyland Resort honored the Anaheim
community with “70 Happiest Hours in Anaheim”—a three-day initiative filled
with surprise events, special appearances, and joyful experiences for local
residents.
Over
the course of 70 hours, Disney magic touched the lives of more than 5,000
individuals across 16 events throughout the city. From classroom surprises to
block parties, the initiative highlighted the strong bond between Disneyland
and Anaheim, the city it has called home since 1955.
“For
70 years, Disneyland Resort has been fortunate to call the City of Anaheim
home,” said Thomas Mazloum, president of Disneyland Resort. “With 70 Happiest
Hours in Anaheim, we’re honoring our legacy by giving back to the community
that has embraced us for generations – bringing a little extra magic to the
place and people who mean so much to us.”
Highlights
of the campaign included:
·
Mickey Mouse and friends surprising
more than 800 students and staff on their first day back at Crescent Elementary
School
·
A festival-style movie night at Loara
High School with more than 300 attendees
·
Surprise station visits to nearly 100
Anaheim first responders, complete with character greetings, treats, and games
·
Veterans from Walnut Village honored
during a special flag retreat ceremony at Disneyland Resort
·
A spectacular halftime performance at
Glover Stadium, where the Katella High School band joined the Disneyland Band
to perform classic Disney songs
·
Additional surprises included themed
snacks, keepsake giveaways, and beloved Disney characters greeting guests at
community events.
“Anaheim
and Disneyland Resort are bound by history and a legacy that lives on as part
of our community today,” said Ashleigh Aitken, Mayor of Anaheim. “These events
keep that legacy alive, benefiting kids, families, seniors, and first
responders across Anaheim. As home to Walt Disney’s original Disneyland, no one
else has what Anaheim has – and this reflects that special bond.”
Beyond
the anniversary celebrations, Disneyland Resort continues its long-standing
commitment to Orange County through volunteerism and philanthropy. In 2024
alone, Disney cast members contributed more than 33,000 volunteer hours and
held over 80 workforce development sessions, while the resort provided tens of
millions of dollars in cash and in-kind donations to benefit local families.
Special
Offer for Anaheim Residents
To
continue the celebration, Anaheim residents can enjoy a special ticket offer: a
1-day, 1-park ticket for as little as $70. This limited-time offer requires
valid admission and park reservation for the same date and park. Details are
available at Disneyland.com/AnaheimResidentOffer.
