Delta Air Lines has been recognized by Cirium as the
most on-time airline in North America for 2025, marking the fifth year in a row
the carrier has earned the distinction. The ranking highlights Delta’s
continued focus on safety, reliability and service across one of the world’s
largest airline operations.
According to Cirium’s on-time performance methodology,
80.9 percent of Delta’s approximately 1.8 million flights in 2025 arrived
within 15 minutes of schedule. That result placed Delta 1.7 percentage points
ahead of its closest competitor—achieved on more than four times the flight
volume. Delta also stood out as the only U.S. carrier included in Cirium’s Top
10 Global Airlines for on-time performance.
Operational consistency at scale
The latest results reinforce Delta’s ability to
deliver punctual operations across a vast and complex network. Maintaining
industry-leading performance at this scale, the airline notes, is driven by
close coordination across flight operations, maintenance, airport teams and
customer service.
“Every day, Delta people keep safety at the forefront
while remaining steadfastly focused on on-time performance,” said John
Laughter, Executive Vice President and Chief of Operations at Delta. “Earning
top marks for North American operators for five years running is a testament to
the industry-leading teamwork of Delta people and a direct result of their
dedication to our customers and each other.”
Broad recognition for service and reliability
Beyond Cirium’s on-time rankings, Delta has received
repeated recognition for operational and service excellence from organizations
including J.D. Power, The Points Guy and Skytrax. Together, these honors
reinforce Delta’s position as one of the most consistently awarded airlines in
the United States.
