Among
the 1,417 companies included in the survey, Delta was the only airline to
secure No. 1 rankings in three states.
Delta
achieved the top spot in Georgia, Michigan, and Utah, while also ranking No. 4
in both New York and Massachusetts, and No. 8 in Minnesota. The airline tied
with Costco as the only employer nationwide to be ranked No. 1 in three
different states. Notably, Delta has now been named Georgia’s No. 1 employer for
four consecutive years and Michigan’s top employer for the second year in a
row.
As
part of this year’s results, Delta and Allison Ausband, Executive Vice
President and Chief People Officer, were spotlighted by Forbes. Ausband noted:
“This
supportive environment is a big part of what makes Delta special for both
employees and customers. It sounds very simple, but if you take care of your
people, then they're going to take care of the customer.”
Delta’s
commitment to its workforce is reflected in a wide range of benefits, including
unlimited standby travel, profit-sharing, training opportunities, premium
healthcare, family care, and up to five weeks of paid vacation.
How
the ranking is determined
To
compile the 2025 list of America’s Best Employers by State, Forbes partnered
with market research firm Statista to survey more than 160,000 employees across
the U.S., working for companies with at least 500 employees. Participants were
asked to rate their likelihood of recommending their employer, as well as to
evaluate other companies they had worked for in the past two years and those
they knew through their industry or personal networks.
Responses
came from all 50 states and Washington, D.C., and were incorporated into a
scoring system that also factored in data from the past three years. More
weight was given to current employees and to the most recent data. The
highest-scoring companies in each state were included in the final list.
Delta’s
strong showing underscores its longstanding commitment to creating a
people-first culture that benefits both employees and customers, reinforcing
its reputation as one of America’s leading employers.
