Celebrity River Cruises has introduced a new
destination discovery programme designed to deepen travellers’ cultural
experiences during river journeys across Europe. The initiative features four
curated experience formats that connect guests more closely with local culture,
traditions and communities during each stop along the itinerary.
The programme will be available on all Celebrity River
Cruises sailings in 2027 and 2028 as well as during pre- and post-cruise stays
in Prague, Budapest and Amsterdam. Experiences are designed to combine guided
local insights, hands-on cultural activities and independent exploration.
Laura Hodges Bethge, president of Celebrity Cruises,
said the new concept aims to transform how travellers experience destinations
along Europe’s rivers.
“On a Celebrity River Cruises vacation, no two days
are the same because no two places are. We've built a destination program that
connects guests to Europe more personally than anything the river cruise
industry has offered before.”
Four experience formats connect travellers with local
culture
The new programme includes four different categories.
The Storyteller Series offers guided experiences led by local residents and
cultural insiders who share personal stories and lesser-known perspectives on
their cities.
The Skillmaster Series focuses on hands-on activities
in which travellers learn traditional skills from local artisans, chefs and
craftspeople.
For independent explorers, the Keys to the City Series
provides digital guides with curated routes and local insights, allowing guests
to discover destinations based on their individual interests.
Once per sailing, the Celebrity Takeover Series offers
exclusive events and private experiences at iconic locations, designed to
create memorable highlights during the cruise.
Guests can also extend their journey with multi-day
pre- or post-cruise stays in major European cities. These programmes include
small-group tours led by local hosts, premium hotel accommodation and concierge
support for additional experiences.
