The
northern capital of Thailand, Chiang Mai, continues to elevate its profile as a
premier MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) destination,
securing six major international conferences for 2025 and adding a confirmed
event for 2026.
Traditionally
overshadowed by Bangkok, Chiang Mai is now making its mark as a competitive
alternative for international events. In 2025, the city will welcome
high-profile conferences spanning engineering, medicine, environmental science,
and public policy—demonstrating its growing appeal across diverse sectors.
Venues
range from the Chiang Mai International Exhibition and Convention Centre to
top-tier hotels, showcasing the city's broad capacity to accommodate events of
varying scale and nature.
Mr.
Chiruit Isarangkun Na Ayuthaya, President of the Thailand Convention and
Exhibition Bureau (TCEB), commented:
"Chiang
Mai’s success in attracting international conferences reflects not only its
growing competitiveness but also its unique appeal. The city blends the modern
amenities of an urban hub with the charm of Lanna culture, stunning natural
surroundings, and strong community engagement—making it a truly memorable
destination for global delegates."
The
six confirmed international conferences for 2025 are:

ahead, Chiang Mai has also been selected by the International Festivals &
Events Association – Asia (IFEA-Asia) to host the IFEA Asia Pinnacle Awards
& Asia Festival City Conference 2026, scheduled for 4–6 February 2026. This
announcement follows the city’s recent recognition at the Asia Festival Awards
2025, where it was named Asia World Heritage City and received accolades for
the Yi Peng Festival’s Best Event Program and Best PR & Marketing.

Mai is easily accessible via a 1 hour 15-minute flight from Bangkok and is
