European Travel on the Rise for US Travelers this Summer

Allianz Partners USA reports that summer travel to Europe by U.S. travelers is expected to increase by 10% in 2025, marking the fourth consecutive year of growth.

According to the company's Top Summer European Destinations Report, London, Paris, and Dublin continue to top the list of preferred destinations, reflecting a strong interest in iconic European cities.

Daniel Durazo, Director of External Communications at Allianz Partners USA, stated, "Summer is often a time to check off bucket list trips, so it's no surprise that European travel continues to rise for U.S. travelers. Traveling far from home can add an element of stress, especially when it comes to finding medical assistance or handling lost luggage. Travel insurance can alleviate some of these worries by covering cancellations, delays, and medical emergencies."

Notably, Lisbon has made a comeback in the top 10 destinations this year, replacing Athens. Other popular spots include Rome (#4), Edinburgh (#5), Reykjavik (#6), Barcelona (#7), Amsterdam (#8), and Nice (#10), showing a continued preference for both classic and emerging European locations.

The report highlights the ongoing enthusiasm among U.S. travelers for European vacations, with Allianz Partners emphasizing the role of travel insurance in ensuring a more secure and worry-free journey. As summer approaches, more Americans are expected to explore Europe’s rich cultural heritage, vibrant cities, and picturesque landscapes.
