The World Halal Summit and Halal Expo, taking place
from Nov. 26–29 at the Istanbul Fair Center, will serve as a major platform for
trade dialogue and cross-border collaboration among halal industry
stakeholders. Organized under the patronage of the Turkish Presidency and in
partnership with the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), the four-day
event seeks to connect manufacturers, investors, and policy makers through a
series of business forums and B2B meetings.
The event provides small and medium-sized enterprises
(SMEs) with opportunities to promote their products, explore export markets,
and establish partnerships within a fast-growing global halal economy that
spans food, tourism, health, energy, and digital sectors.
Expanding opportunities for trade and investment
Business forums for Oman, Yemen, Tunisia, and
Palestine will highlight each country’s investment potential through
presentations, case studies, and networking sessions. These gatherings aim to
facilitate direct investment, technology exchange, and long-term cooperation,
while helping countries strengthen their position as reliable trading partners.
According to Yunus Ete, President of the World Halal
Summit Council, the summit’s forums and meetings are designed to create
tangible results:
“We are working closely with the Foreign Economic
Relations Board of Türkiye (DEIK) and the Oman Chamber of Commerce to develop
practical cooperation in sectors such as defense, energy, tourism, health,
food, and logistics,” Ete said.
Relevance for the travel and hospitality industry
The halal economy increasingly intersects with the global
travel and tourism sector, where demand for halal-certified services—ranging
from accommodation and gastronomy to wellness and cultural
experiences—continues to rise. The summit’s inclusion of tourism-focused
sessions reflects this trend, offering industry professionals a chance to
explore new partnerships and destination branding strategies in emerging
markets.
A growing international platform
Last year’s World Halal Summit drew more than 50,000
visitors and participants from over 100 countries, underscoring Istanbul’s
position as a leading hub for global halal industry exchange. This year’s
edition aims to consolidate that role, promoting sustainable collaboration that
supports trade growth, knowledge sharing, and responsible market development
across regions.
