The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) hosted the Amazing
Thailand Mid-Autumn Night 2025 at One Bangkok, commemorating 50 years of
Thailand–China friendship. Coinciding with China’s Golden Week and the Mid-Autumn
Festival, the event welcomed 100 distinguished Chinese guests – including Key
Opinion Leaders (KOLs), content creators, and media representatives – to
highlight Thailand’s image as a leading destination that connects culture,
people, and travel.
Among the distinguished guests were Atthakorn
Sirilatthayakorn, Minister of Tourism and Sports; Yang Xiao Long, Cultural
Counsellor of the Chinese Embassy in Thailand; Natreeya Taweewong, Permanent
Secretary of the Ministry of Tourism and Sports; and Thapanee Kiatphaibool, TAT
Governor. Their presence underscored the event’s symbolic role as a bridge of
cultural and people-to-people connection between the two nations.
A night of shared heritage
Held under the theme “Mid-Autumn Festival uniting
Thai–Chinese culture and tourism,” the evening featured performances, symbolic
ceremonies, and celebrity appearances that reflected harmony and friendship.
The highlight was a mooncake-making ceremony led by Thai and Chinese
dignitaries alongside popular Thai actor-singer Billkin Putthipong
Assaratanakul, symbolising reunion and good fortune.
Minister Atthakorn noted, “This celebration reflects
the enduring friendship between Thailand and China, inspired by the Mid-Autumn
Festival’s values of unity and reunion. As our nations mark 50 years of
diplomatic relations, the saying ‘China and Thailand are one family’ perfectly
expresses our shared spirit. Through tourism, we continue to build
understanding and lasting connections between our peoples.”
Thai actor Pong Nawat Kulrattanarak joined for a
dialogue session on tourism cooperation, while Billkin performed songs in Thai
and Chinese, inviting travellers to experience Thailand’s charm firsthand.
Inspiring new journeys through Nihao Month
The event formed part of the “Thailand, Told by You”
UGC Challenge and FAM Trip (5–10 October). Participants are travelling through Chiang
Mai, Pattaya, Phuket, and Ko Samui to experience Thailand’s latest attractions
and share authentic impressions across major Chinese digital platforms.
The programme also highlights Thailand’s “5 Must Do”
experiences – Must Taste (culinary delights), Must Try (immersive activities), Must
Buy (unique local products), Must Seek (scenic attractions), and Must See
(vibrant festivals) – alongside the country’s Smart and Sustainable Tourism
direction under the Trusted Thailand initiative.
TAT Governor Thapanee Kiatphaibool said, “Nihao Month
reflects our commitment to China as one of Thailand’s most important markets.
Through creative collaboration and meaningful engagement, we aim to inspire
real travel while deepening our cultural connection. This celebration truly
embodied the friendship between our nations.”
Strengthening tourism ties for the future
As part of the Nihao Month 2025 campaign, TAT and its
partners have launched nationwide collaborations with Chinese platforms such as
Meituan, Ctrip, Tongcheng, Dianping, Alipay, WeChat, RED, and Douyin, offering
exclusive travel privileges through 31 December. The Chinese Passport Privilege
Programme also provides special offers at leading Thai retailers including Siam
Piwat, The Mall Group, Central Embassy, One Bangkok, 7-Eleven, Lotus’s, Makro,
and Tops.
From 1 January to 30 September 2025, Thailand welcomed
3.4 million visitors from China. With Nihao Month in full swing, TAT expects
arrivals to accelerate through the year’s end – reinforcing the shared
prosperity and friendship that have defined 50 years of Thailand–China
relations.
