The Sun Princess, the first of Princess Cruises’
revolutionary Sphere-Class ships, has been named the #1 Mega Cruise Ship in the
Condé Nast Traveler 2025 Readers’ Choice Awards – for the second year in a row.
The recognition reaffirms the ship’s reputation for combining innovation,
design excellence, and exceptional service to create unforgettable voyages
around the globe.
A new era of cruising excellence
Launched in 2024, the 177,882-ton Sun Princess
accommodates 4,300 guests and has quickly become an icon of modern cruising.
Blending elegant design with dynamic entertainment, world-class dining, and the
warm, personalised service synonymous with Princess Cruises, the ship continues
to set new benchmarks in the industry.
Gus Antorcha, President of Princess Cruises, said:
“We are honoured that Sun Princess has once again been
recognised by the readers of Condé Nast Traveler as the best mega cruise ship
at sea. This award is a testament to the ship’s next-generation design and to
the dedication of our incredible crew, whose passion creates exceptional
experiences for our guests. To receive this honour two years running is both
humbling and inspiring as we continue to deliver unforgettable Princess
vacations worldwide and expand our fleet with her sister ship, Star Princess.”
Setting new standards at sea
Among the ship’s standout features is The Dome, a
multi-level, glass-enclosed entertainment and relaxation space inspired by the
terraces of Santorini. The Princess Arena, the line’s most technologically
advanced theatre to date, and The Piazza, a dramatic architectural centrepiece
with sweeping ocean views, provide guests with immersive spaces for relaxation
and performance alike.
The Sun Princess also introduces the Sanctuary
Collection, an elevated experience offering guests exclusive suites, a private
restaurant, and the Sanctuary Club, an adults-only pool deck that redefines
luxury at sea.
Culinary artistry and imaginative experiences
Guests can choose from 30 dining and bar venues,
featuring high-quality ingredients, acclaimed chefs, and the Love Line Premium
Liquors Collection of curated wines and spirits. One of the ship’s most
talked-about experiences is Spellbound by Magic Castle – an immersive speakeasy
blending illusion, storytelling, and mixology.
Continuing the journey
With itineraries spanning the Mediterranean, Caribbean
and beyond, Sun Princess embodies Princess Cruises’ vision of refined adventure
and innovation. The company continues to elevate the guest experience with the
launch of Star Princess, which embarked on her maiden voyage earlier this
month, expanding the Sphere-Class legacy even further.
