Kimpton,
part of IHG Hotels & Resorts’ luxury and lifestyle portfolio, has announced
plans to open its first Napa Valley property in 2028. The move extends
Kimpton’s “laid back sophistication” into one of California’s most sought-after
destinations, visited by more than four million travelers annually.
A
new landmark along the Napa River
The
forthcoming Kimpton Napa will occupy a highly visible location between First
Street, the Napa River, Main Street, and the Oxbow Public Market. The hotel
will comprise two four-story buildings with 123 spacious guest rooms. Design
and décor will reflect the valley’s landscape and culture, creating a setting
for both guests and locals to gather after a day of wine tasting, shopping, or
dining.
Brand
hallmarks and distinctive features
True
to Kimpton’s style, guests will enjoy signature amenities including Kimpton
Kickstart morning coffee and tea service, evening Social Hour, and the “Forgot
It? We’ve Got It!” program. Pets of all sizes will be welcomed at no extra
charge. Wellness will play a central role, with an outdoor spa, contrast
therapy studios, and garden patios. A rooftop bar and restaurant will highlight
regional flavors and panoramic views, while a central courtyard will foster
community and connection.
Voices
from IHG and Stratus Development Partners
“For
more than four decades, Kimpton has wowed guests with a bold take on luxury
hospitality,” said Leanne Harwood, SVP and Managing Director of Luxury &
Lifestyle Americas at IHG Hotels & Resorts. “Napa Valley, with its rich
cultural history and global appeal, is a perfect next step for the brand.
Together with Stratus Development Partners, we will deliver something truly
special to the region.”
Andrew
Wood, Principal at Stratus Development Partners, added: “Napa Valley embodies
the ‘laid back luxury’ lifestyle that Kimpton represents. This hotel will serve
as a vibrant social hub for both travelers and the community.”
Part
of a broader expansion
The
Napa Valley project joins nearly 150 Kimpton hotels open or in the pipeline
worldwide. Recent and upcoming openings include Kimpton Fredericksburg in
Texas, Kimpton Mirador Pacific Grove in California, and Kimpton Coco Palms
Resort in Hawaii.
