JW Marriott, part of Marriott
Bonvoy’s portfolio of over 30 hotel brands, together with Comstock Holding
Companies, Inc. (Nasdaq: CHCI), has announced the grand opening of JW Marriott
Reston Station. The 247-room luxury property, located in the heart of Reston
Station—the largest mixed-use, transit-oriented community in the Washington,
D.C. area—marks the brand’s debut in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
A New Benchmark for Northern
Virginia
Situated within a
master-planned community that attracts global firms, affluent professionals,
and discerning travelers, JW Marriott Reston Station offers sweeping views,
sophisticated guest rooms, and three distinctive dining concepts. The property
also introduces the region’s largest luxury meeting venue, with more than
40,000 square feet of event space. Conveniently located on Metro’s Silver Line,
the hotel connects directly to Dulles International Airport, Tysons Corner, and
downtown Washington, D.C.
“This opening is particularly
meaningful for the brand, given our roots in Washington, D.C.,” said Bruce Rohr,
Vice President and Global Brand Leader, JW Marriott. “JW Marriott Reston
Station reflects the evolution of our brand — where timeless luxury meets
world-class hospitality. With the debut of our new Mindful Rooms concept and a
continued focus on well-being, we are proud to extend JW Marriott’s legacy into
Northern Virginia.”
Rooted in Vision and Design
Guided by Robert E. Simon’s
founding vision for Reston and J. Willard Marriott’s commitment to hospitality,
the property was designed by internationally recognized architects to blend
forward-thinking innovation with JW Marriott’s timeless ethos. At the entrance,
guests encounter Building Bridges, a monumental sculpture by Italian artist Lorenzo
Quinn, depicting six pairs of interlocking hands symbolizing friendship,
wisdom, love, faith, and hope.
Guest Rooms and Mindful Living
The hotel features 14 junior
suites, four executive suites, and one presidential suite. Floor-to-ceiling
windows and spa-inspired bathrooms complement sleek interiors. Fourteen of the
rooms debut the brand’s Mindful Rooms and Floors concept, designed as
sanctuaries for the senses with natural textures, circadian lighting, and
dedicated wellness alcoves equipped with yoga mats, weights, and recovery
tools. Personalized rituals, tea services, and turndown experiences allow
guests to tailor their stay to their wellness routines.
Dining and Culinary
Experiences
Guests can choose from three
distinct venues:
·
The Simon – a modern Mid-Atlantic restaurant
with French and Mediterranean influences.
·
Schar Bar – a sophisticated lounge featuring
bespoke cocktails and an extensive wine list.
·
JW Market – a café led by Executive Pastry Chef Claus
Olsen, serving artisan baked goods, sandwiches, and locally inspired
specialties.
A JW Garden supplies fresh
herbs and produce for select menu items across the hotel’s restaurants.
Events and Gatherings
The hotel introduces Northern
Virginia’s most expansive luxury meeting facilities, with a total of 40,000
square feet of space. This includes an 11,700-square-foot ballroom with 20-foot
ceilings and multiple breakout rooms — all on a single level for seamless flow.
Designed with natural light and cutting-edge technology, the venue can
accommodate up to 1,300 guests.
“Every detail at JW Marriott
Reston Station is designed to offer a remarkable experience, inviting guests to
be fully present in mind, body, and spirit,” said Dewayne Wright, Managing
Director, JW Marriott Reston Station. “We are honored to bring JW Marriott’s
legacy of mindful luxury to the Dulles Corridor and look forward to welcoming
guests.”
